That's why there were so many azulejo tiles all over the buildings🩵 I'll introduce you to two of the most beautiful azulejo points that I visited many times during my month-long stay in Porto! 📍(Photo 1-4) Carmo Cathedral / R. do Carmo, 4050-164 Porto, Portugal Carmo Cathedral, which I felt had the most beautiful exterior among the cathedrals in Porto! The cathedral was really big and magnificent. It was a cathedral I visited several times during my trip. I was able to take pretty pictures in front of the side azulejo✨ The admission fee was 5 euros, so it was cheap:) 📍(Photo 5-6) São Bento Train Station São Bento Train Station is considered one of the most beautiful train stations in the world. If you're a tourist to Porto, this is a place you must visit. There are so many people that it can be called the center of Porto. It wasn't as big as I thought, but the blue walls were a photo zone! People were lining up to take pictures ㅎㅎㅎ It was a Baroque cathedral, and the interior was pretty nice to look at, but it was so small that I recommend not going in and just taking pictures outside🙂

I also visited Porto by bus from Lisbon.🚌 Porto, the second largest city in Portugal, has been selected as a World Heritage Site as the "Historic Centre of Porto," and is a fun city to walk around. The first photo is Igreja do Carmo (Carmo Church). It is decorated with one of the largest and most beautiful azulejos in the country! I personally liked Porto better than Lisbon because of its relaxed atmosphere. The Carmo Cathedral is also called Nossa Senhora do Carmo. The cathedral, which combines Baroque and Rococo styles, was started in 1756 by the architect Jose Figueiredo and was completed in 1768. The front façade has a sculpture of Santa Ana, and the sides are lined with large azulejo panels suggesting Carmel and Mount Carmel. The work was done by Silvestre Silvestri, and the paintings were painted by Carlos Branco. The tile work is said to have been done in 1912 at the Senhora do Alam, Torringha factory in Vila Nova de Gaia. There is a beautiful chapel space decorated with gold inside.
