Planning a trip with the kids this May Day holiday? Take the high-speed train and have fun in Fuzhou!
Planning a trip with the kids this May Day holiday? The high-speed train directly reaches the particularly friendly city of Fuzhou. The journey from Guangzhou East Station to Fuzhou South Station takes about four and a half hours. This time, we chose the first Hyatt brand hotel to enter Fujian Province - Hyatt Regency Fuzhou Cangshan. It is close to the Strait Olympic Sports Center and the city's third ring expressway. Starting from Fuzhou South Railway Station, it takes only 20 minutes to reach the hotel quickly, which is very convenient for transportation.
The interior design of Hyatt Regency Fuzhou Cangshan was completed by the world-renowned designer HBA, taking Fuzhou's city flower 'Jasmine' and 'Tea Culture' as the design theme. It integrates the traditional local courtyard architectural features, with the graceful Min River as the companion and the winding Qishan as the backdrop, creating a vibrant place for business, leisure, and gatherings on the island of flowers and jade. The hotel lobby borrows from the traditional Fuzhou courtyard structure, featuring a central garden with a huge glass canopy overhead, under which lies a delicate natural bonsai, and the introduction of natural light also makes the hotel shine differently at various times of the day. Upon check-in, guests are greeted with jasmine tea and a bouquet of jasmine, exuding a pleasant fragrance and an inexplicable sense of belonging.
The hotel has 226 rooms and suites with different design styles. We stayed in a Fun Twin Room, which was filled with plush toys from the 'Octonauts', and the hotel also gave a quacking bag for the baby, which the baby loved! Intangible cultural heritage pastries and jasmine fragrance adorn the room, and the element of jasmine has won my heart. The room is dominated by warm colors, with a stylish and simple design, complemented by spacious and bright floor-to-ceiling windows, offering a magnificent view of the vast Min River.
For dinner, we chose to dine at the Min-style Chinese restaurant, which specializes in Fujian cuisine, one of the 'Eight Great Traditional Chinese Cuisines'. The restaurant's design incorporates traditional Fujian Tulou and 'Saddle Wall' architectural elements with a central green garden layout, creating a high-roofed, local-style Min courtyard dining atmosphere. This time, we tasted their spring menu, which included the fragrant Min-style drunken giant river prawns, the fresh and bouncy spring leek and shrimp, the sweet and sour signature drunken ribs, the distinctive home-cooked white rice cake with river carp, the seasonal steamed bun with spring bamboo shoots, the nourishing loquat and bird's nest soup with abalone, and the enticing jasmine flower milk pudding, composing a 'never leave' story on the tip of the tongue.
The next day, wake up to a beautiful day by jogging along the river next to the hotel, sweating it out at the fitness center, or swimming in the indoor temperature-controlled pool.
For local exploration, consider visiting Liangcuo to experience the leisurely passage of time. At the Chunlun Public Tea House, taste a cup of jasmine lid-covered tea, immerse in the ink-dyed fragrance of tea, and feel as if time stands still amidst the spring flowers. Yantai Mountain Business Walking Street is also a great choice for eating and strolling around.
After resting back at the hotel, enjoy the cherry blossom afternoon tea at the lobby lounge on the first floor or the cloud lounge on the 21st floor, with the children's playground right next door, making it more reassuring for parents.
For dinner, you can opt for the exquisite double hot pot at the Market Cafe, with a rich and thick Buddha Jumps Over the Wall soup base and a 12-grid selection of hot pot ingredients to amaze your taste buds!
During the May Day holiday, the hotel also offers intangible cultural heritage activities such as tea tasting, wet mounting fan painting, and Jasmine Fairy, which you should not miss!
