This was a very surprising short trip! The hotel is full of Nanyang style, with flower tiles, Western-style corridors, European-style arched windows, rattan lounge chairs, and other tropical Nanyang-style decorations and furnishings. Every corner is beautiful and photogenic! The hotel has 9 retro Nanyang-style rooms, all of which are fully equipped with underfloor heating, a drying wardrobe, a fresh air system, etc. Our room was spacious and bright, with a retro ceiling fan slowly turning and a record player playing. The tranquility and romance of Nanyang life are perfectly interpreted here. Breakfast includes Chinese, Nanyang, and Western options. The ingredients are fresh and there is a wide variety to choose from! It is worth mentioning that the old coconut pigeon soup in the Nanyang-style set meal is very delicious. I heard that it was carefully boiled for more than 2 hours. Unfortunately, I didn't do my homework in advance. I only found out after I got home that the afternoon tea at this hotel is also worth a special trip! I can't believe I missed it... The service at the hotel is first-class. Special thanks to the butlers Ella and Eric. From the moment we booked, they carefully asked about our arrival time. The bathroom is super big, and the shower 🚿 has great water pressure, better than other hotels on the island. The toiletries are Le Labo 22, and the bergamot scent is perfect for this hotel! The custom Dyson hair dryer... I felt so comfortable after taking a shower! 3. The butler will help you plan your entire trip from the moment you book, so you don't have to worry about which pier to take the ferry from or where to go when you arrive, because someone will be there to pick you up! If you need anything, just let the butler know and they'll respond immediately. 4. Finally, the hotel is so photogenic, every shot is a masterpiece, it's a paradise for photography lovers! By the way, the hotel's mascot 🐶 Guangming is so cute! I really wanted to take him home 😁

In front of the glass window on the terrace, looking at the courtyard, I instantly feel like I have traveled back to a hundred years ago, and my emotional connection with this Gulangyu Island has deepened. I didn't have high expectations for the food and beverage, but the afternoon tea included in the room really surprised me! Highly recommended: Sunlight Kindergarten and special coffee under the longan tree, cheesecake! The quality of the products is so high! It beats 90% of the coffee shops in Xiamen (no exaggeration)! We decided to stay on Gulangyu Island for a night over the weekend. After doing a lot of research and comparing many hotels, we finally decided to book No. 36 Huangyan Hotel. We didn't expect the stay to be so amazing. The environment, facilities, service, and food were all perfect. We loved it! We originally planned to stay for one night, but we liked it so much that we extended our stay for another three days. First, the environment: The decor is very stylish! The hotel has been beautifully decorated while retaining its original appearance and history. It has a private courtyard and a South Asian style that I really like. The atmosphere is great! It's artistic, romantic, and poetic, and the photos look amazing! The hotel opened recently, so it's very clean. Service: The one-on-one butler service, private transfer, and ferry ticket booking service are great advantages. After we booked, our butler Ella asked us when we would arrive on the island and helped us book ferry tickets and arrange a private transfer. On the day, Ella was waiting for us at the cruise terminal to help us with our luggage and take the ferry to the island. She also explained a lot about the island and carefully introduced us to many nearby attractions and the facilities in our room. During our stay, she thoughtfully arranged meals and prepared desserts for us. Ella also enthusiastically recommended local food, attractions, and shopping places, and gave us a delicious afternoon tea. The thoughtful service made us feel very warm. Even when we left the hotel, she enthusiastically helped us with our luggage and took us to our destination. I have to say, this hotel has the best service I've ever seen. We had a very comfortable and pleasant travel experience. Food: The hotel offers three types of breakfast: Chinese, South Asian, and Western.
