The most attractive thing about the landscape glass house is the 360° panoramic view from a high vantage point. The homestay is spacious, parking is convenient, and every room faces the sea. The double room with sea view we stayed in was on the 2nd floor. There is an elevator which is very convenient. There is a large space in front of the room for the dog to run around. But still need to wear a leash. Breakfast is served in the restaurant in the front building. Hualien-Taitung Coast Day Tour, heading to Shitiping Scenic Area! Shitiping is located on the south side of Shitiping Bay in Fengbin. The entire coastline features a rocky coastal erosion landscape, including monocline hills, sea erosion trenches, potholes, and intertidal zones, all the way to Shitiping Harbor, a prime whale watching spot. Our itinerary includes about an hour's stay, perfect for a leisurely walk and taking photos. We also plan to enjoy some seafood at the fishing port! Previously, my impression of Shitiping was limited to the popular Slow Inn. I had never actually entered the Shitiping Scenic Area. This time, the tour guide arranged for a one-hour stay, allowing us to truly experience the grandeur of the coastal erosion landscape. The unique scenery, with its gray-white rocky formations resembling a lunar landscape, is quite photogenic. This was also my first visit to Shitiping Fishing Port. By noon, there was no fish market to explore, only a few seafood snack stalls by the pier and some whale-watching boat operators. It was quite refreshing. We embarked on a three-day, two-night trip to Hualien and visited Dashibi Mountain on the eastern coast. Located at the southern end of the Qizai Coastal Recreation Area, this small hill juts out from the coastline. Our guide mentioned that it looks like a big nose and somewhat like a turtle shell, hence the names 'Dashibi Mountain' or 'Turtle Hermitage Mountain.' Dashibi Mountain has a hiking trail that loops around to the seaside. Most of the steps are made of wooden sleepers and stones, with gentle slopes that make for a comfortable walk. It takes less than an hour to complete the trail. At the summit, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Highway 11, Qizai Bay, and the Pacific Ocean. The view is excellent, but there's no shade, so it can get quite hot! Across from the parking lot, there's a stall selling indigenous sausages. Our guide recommended the grilled flying fish roe sausages, so we bought some to try. They have a unique sea flavor and are quite delicious.

The plank road is built vertically along the cliffs on the sea with a steel structure and reinforced glass. It is about 20 meters long and the entire road is transparent. There are rock walls above and sea tides below. Walking on it is a bit scary! The origin of the name "Parents Don't Know Their Children" is a bit sad. According to legend, in the past, there was a tribal woman who was carrying her child on her back while walking through this ancient trail. As there was no rope on the wooden bridge, she could only rely on vines growing on the cliff to move forward. The woman was too nervous and only found out after she passed the ancient trail that her child was gone! Although the trail is no longer dangerous after reconstruction, you need to wear a safety helmet before setting foot on the ancient trail to prevent hitting the rock wall above. The old Xinfeng Tunnel has been transformed into a small store and exhibition area. This was my second trip to Taiwan, so I wanted to visit a nearby city that I hadn't been to. I tried it because there were many reviews saying that the Taroko Gorge in Hualien was beautiful. I didn't want to take the bus tour that was crowded with Chinese people, so I took the train to Hualien and then went on a private taxi tour. I had a train ticket when I went from Taipei to Hualien, so I went comfortably. I was planning to stay one night and come back, so I packed my luggage for one night in my backpack and left. After arriving, I looked around the market and had dinner, and the next day, the taxi driver came to my accommodation and started the private tour~~ It was a 4-hour tour, and it was nice that I could choose the spots I wanted to go to. This ancient building is nestled between the cliffs of the gorge, surrounded by waterfalls and mist, like a mysterious cave from a fantasy drama. Climbing the steps along the trail, you can feel the fusion of history and nature, with every stone telling a story of the past. 📍Swallow Grotto Continuing on, you'll reach Swallow Grotto, a true masterpiece of nature! The cliffs on either side of the gorge are dotted with caves of various sizes, said to have been home to swallows in the past. Walking along the trail, with cliffs on one side and rushing streams on the other, you can hear the sound of flowing water, like a beautiful symphony played by nature. Looking up, the sky is cut into a blue ribbon by the gorge, a sight that is truly indescribable. 📍Tunnel of Nine Turns The Tunnel of Nine Turns is the highlight of Taroko Gorge! There are many things to see at Jian Qingxiu Temple, including the eighty-eight stone Buddhas from Shikoku Island in Japan, the purification pavilion for cleansing the mouth and body, the rustic Buddha hall built with traditional Japanese craftsmanship, and the Zen-inspired dry landscape garden. It feels like being in an ancient Buddhist temple from the Edo period in Japan, serene and peaceful.
