If you drive on the way back, you can take a bus and go directly to the parking lot. The hotel is mainly divided into three sections. Then, we went to Hotel Urashima and stay 1 night there to try various cave Onsen and wake up 420am for the sunrise! Worth! Osaka Expo is worst experience due to too crowded and non user friendly application for reservation of pavilion. Dotonburi is still the best for shopping experience. Kyoto cultural trip , of course Kobe beef and kids favorite Kobe animal kingdom. Train Haruka to Kansai airport , best comfortable train ride . Wonderful japanese melon !!!

With over 70 years of history, Ushima Hotel was originally much larger but was downsized for earthquake safety while preserving its iconic cave hot springs. (The hotel exhibits historical records.) The entire property exudes Showa-era charm, offering vintage leisure activities instead of modern luxuries like spas or gyms. It's a comforting, massive space—I stayed two nights and still didn't have enough time to explore everything. **Stay Experience:** I booked the Sunrise Wing, where dawn views over cliffs and waves greeted me each morning. Staff prepared futons nightly. While facilities show age, they're impeccably clean—a top-tier resort for its time. Even witnessed a Japanese corporate retreat! **Dining:** Not Michelin-level, but given the island's limited options (unless you ferry to town), their half-board meals were satisfyingly varied—though menus repeated nightly during my stay. Pro tip: Reserve early to secure ocean-view dining; walk-ins get relegated to late slots. **Onsen Highlights:** The star attractions are the two cave baths (one large, one small). Daytime soaks offer sea vistas, while nights bring crashing waves and salty breezes. Quirky touches include a "leek bath" with actual green onions floating in it! Collect stamps from three different baths to redeem a gift (I got bath salts). **Extras:** Arrive early to beat check-in crowds and maximize time exploring this sprawling resort.     Hotel Urashima | Healed by a "Mom" Hotel

    |Healed by a "Mom" Hotel. I have always had a thing for seaside hotels, so even after reading a lot of complaints, I still firmly chose Urashima. After staying for two days, I was healed by the motherly warmth that the hotel exudes from the inside out. The outdated facilities are a common complaint among many netizens, but personally, I find them completely acceptable. The TV in the room is only the size of an iPad, the corridors are filled with a faint bamboo scent, and the hot spring pools are lined with old-fashioned tiles... The sense of age that permeates every detail is actually quite comforting. As a hotel that is older than my mom, it still has all the modern amenities, including an izakaya, ramen shop, Lawson, and souvenir supermarket. The hotel staff are all very friendly, but not many of them speak English, and most can only speak a few words. There is no Chinese service, so communication can be a bit difficult for non-standard matters. Urashima has a total of four hot spring pools, with the Genbudo and Bokido natural cave hot springs being the highlights. You can scan a code in the hotel to check the crowd density, and if you collect three stamps, you can exchange them for a small gift (two packs of medicinal bath powder) at the front desk.

    Nachikatsuura, a place blessed by the gods

    Kiikatsuura is a small town by the sea, surrounded by mountains and the sea. It is an important post station on the Kumano Kodo, a World Cultural Heritage site, and has the largest tuna market. On Mount Nachi, the rugged Kumano Kodo still retains the atmosphere of the Heian period, witnessing the vicissitudes and changes of history, and every stone tells a story of the past. Nachi Falls cascades down from the lush mountains, with a height difference of 133 meters, and is known as the "largest waterfall in Japan." Although it is not as majestic and spectacular as those in China, it is a cultural symbol. Since ancient times, this has been a place of practice for Buddhism and Shintoism. According to legend, Nachi Falls is the sacred body of the Hiryu Shrine, a separate shrine of Kumano Nachi Taisha. Every year on July 9 and December 27, a grand ceremony is held to replace the sacred rope that is enshrined above the waterfall. This tradition, which has been passed down for hundreds of years, has become a unique cultural symbol of Nachi Falls.     Urashima Hotel is a large resort with one hotel on one island, and its characteristic is that you can arrive at the hotel by taking a cute turtle boat. We chose an economical Japanese-style room in the main building. Sitting in front of the large floor-to-ceiling windows, we could see the busy turtle boats and people fishing in the sea. The most expensive mountain hotel is equivalent to the 32nd floor above ground and requires taking a 154-meter-long escalator to reach it. It is also the first time to take this kind of mountain elevator in a hotel. The Langyan Trail on the lower level of the Yamagami Pavilion is also worth a visit. It is a great place to watch the sunrise and sunset, and there is also a small shrine. The hotel’s specialty is the cave hot springs, and you will receive free bathing powder if you check in three or more times. My son went to all four hot springs in one night. He said that No. 2 and No. 4 are inner hot springs because they are humid and have bugs. We went to No. 1 and No. 3, and we were able to watch the Pacific Ocean waves crashing while taking a bath, especially the Wanggui Cave. Since men and women took turns, we had to go there once in the morning and once in the afternoon. The cave on one side is larger than the other, and taking a shower in the cave feels like being in the wilderness to survive. There are pools on both sides with sea views. You can soak in them and watch the waves hitting the rocks, hoping that the waves will get bigger and bigger. The pool facing the waves in Xuanwudong is smaller, but the water is more yellow and has a stronger smell, which should be better for the skin. Anyway, my skin feels smooth after soaking. Worried that there would be nothing to eat on the island, I chose a set meal that included two meals. Apart from the fresh sashimi, everything else was pretty standard. I looked at a few small restaurants in the hotel and found that the prices were actually acceptable. There's a shrine, an observation deck, a convenience store, and restaurants! Above all, the best thing about this place is the hot springs ♨️ It's impressive! It was really amazing 🥰 There are five hot springs in the building (six if you include the hot springs exclusive to Yamagamikan guests), and they are switched between men and women depending on the time of day, so if you go in all of them, you can enjoy eight hot springs 😳✨ There were a lot of people so I don't have any photos, but the hot springs in the famous cave called Bōkidō are amazing 😭👏✨ The vast cave and the sea outside the cave are simply overwhelming in scale! The thousand-year-old Kumano Kodo trail is really photogenic when hiking❗ Additionally, hiking sticks are free💰😂 Just remember to return them after use!!! - I only planned this ancient trail trip 2 months in advance, from confirming the route, hotels, buying train tickets, taking the bus🚌, everything was just right! A day trip back and forth to Kumano Kodo also counts as fulfilling a little wish. The original Kumano Kodo trail is over 1000 km long, and it takes at least 7 days to complete the entire trail. However, due to time constraints and limited equipment and physical strength, I only chose a one-day highlight section to experience it! 🏨Stay Ushima Hotel Ushima Hotel The hotel has point-to-point shuttle buses or turtle boats🚢 for transfer, and you can watch the sunrise and sunset from the hotel, which is a great experience. I will write a detailed hotel guide later, so I won't go into details here. 🚌Travel (2 hours) Hotel-Nankai Bus🚌-Daimonzaka Walking🚶🏻- Kumano Nachi Taisha - Nachisan Seiganto-ji (the prototype of the three-story pagoda from Spirited Away is nearby) - Nachi Falls 🚌 Return to Kii-Katsuura The bus🚌 is the Kumano Gobo Nankai Bus (you can buy tickets at the starting point, round trip is 1200 yen, or you can choose a one-way ticket for 480 yen) 📸Photography The entire ancient trail is very photogenic, with misty air like a secret realm.     I want to visit Kii-Katsuura in Japan for the second time!!!

    It takes 4 hours from Osaka on the Kuroshio train to reach this small town in Wakayama Prefecture, far from the hustle and bustle of the big cities. This place is the base for heading to the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage routes. Exiting the JR Kii-Katsuura Station, there are buses to Nachi Mountain, where you can see waterfalls, shrines, torii gates, check in at the famous three-storied pagoda, and then walk the ancient paths, all made of ancient stone steps, descending to Daimon-zaka, and then returning to Kii-Katsuura. At night, I stayed at the Urashima Hotel, which I booked on Ctrip, with a random room type. It's a truly classic hotel experience, super large, the hotel itself is like a resort area. Kii-Katsuura is that kind of quiet, comfortable, and cozy little place~ Turn off your phone and enjoy it~

    Urashima Hotel is a good place for day and hot spring leisure. At Katsuura Fishing Port Hotel, there is a turtle boat to pick up and drop off guests for day trips at the hotel for free. The fee is 1500 yen, including 1 large and 1 small towel and a map of the hotel. You can soak in the hot springs of the entire hotel, including the Sanjokan, Nisshokan, and the famous cave hot springs of the hotel, the Forgotten Cave and the Genbu Cave. The scenery in the cave hot spring is pleasant, it really can help you forget your worries and cleanse your soul♨️♨️ The hotel is large and the hot springs are widely distributed. If you want to experience the hot springs in the entire hotel, you need to prepare enough time😊😊
