[2024 Suzhou Stay] Travel Guide for Hotel Indigo Suzhou Grand Canal, an IHG Hotel (Updated Dec)
Suzhou | Third time at my favorite hotel for high tea.
| Third time at my favorite hotel for high tea. I'm so grateful to have met you. 🥰
You give meaning to life.
You bring warmth to autumn.
You make the afternoon sweet.
✔︎ Suzhou Ancient Grand Canal Indigo Hotel • PIER46
This place is so beautiful that even the gods would stop fighting to take photos and enjoy themselves. 🤣 It's the perfect place to start your day with coffee and end it with alcohol. 😏
No matter how much Suzhou's cultural tourism tempts me to go city walking, I always make sure to leave some time to enjoy a cup of high-tech coffee at "PIER46." ☕ The waiters will print a personalized 3D latte art based on the time and your preferences. ☕ The shy cat 🐱 melted my heart in an instant. ᰔᩚ The sycamore leaves 🍁 are a sign of the beauty of autumn. ᰔᩚ
Suzhou is so relaxing in autumn. 🥰

IHG | HOTEL INDIGO Suzhou Ancient Canal
| HOTEL INDIGO Suzhou Ancient Canal. The first floor lobby is designed with a boat. The blurred background wall is a dynamic visual sense.
📍The hotel is about 1.1 km walk from Suzhou Museum West Hall and Huaihai Street, opposite is Longhu Tianjie, surrounded by Hanshan Temple, Mudu Ancient Town, Lingyan Mountain, etc.
🏨The hotel lobby, lobby bar, and breakfast restaurant are on the 46th floor. The lobby bar on the 45th floor has a public rest area and a Chinese restaurant. The 44th floor is a gym and indoor swimming pool. To go to the guest room, you need to take the elevator on the first floor to the 46th floor, and then take the elevator downstairs to the guest room.
I have to say that the lobby of the Ancient Canal Indigo is the most beautiful lobby under the sunset. The design at the top of the lobby is the visual effect of flowing water. The floor-to-ceiling windows and the warm tones of the setting sun are in the gentleness of the Jiangnan water town.
The skyline view of Suzhou, you can see the Suzhou Center in the park in the east.
🏊Indoor swimming pool
This stay is in the panoramic corner room at the end of the west side, and you can also enjoy the beautiful sunset and sunset in the room. Enter the room and insert the power card, the curtains automatically open, the light gradually brightens, and a delicate room is in front of you.
🛏️If it is not a panoramic room and a suite, other ordinary room types are just "high-altitude bird cages". I personally think that many HUALUXE, VOCO, INDIGO room decoration styles are very similar, just the theme color is different, and the three decorations are delicate and rough.
🍽️The breakfast is great, the Chinese hot dishes are rich, the meat and vegetables are balanced, and there are small seafood, and the dishes are replenished in time. In addition, there are freshly squeezed watermelon juice, Yakult, and ice cream that are not common for breakfast. Panoramic gym
⭐️Finally, I would like to praise their first floor lobby concierge, the service is very in place.

This isn't Manhattan, New York!! It's Hotel Indigo Suzhou Canal.
I found a newly opened hotel in downtown Suzhou that looks like Manhattan. When I posted photos on my Moments, my friends asked me why I was abroad!
The room has 270-degree floor-to-ceiling windows, which I absolutely love. The view is stunning. At night, I can see the neon lights outside the window from my bed, as if I'm sleeping in a cloud paradise. Every corner of this hotel is perfect for influencers to take photos. The view outside the window on a cloudy day looks like a city fog forest.
Hotel | Hotel Indigo Suzhou Canal
Location | No. 79, Jinshan East Road, Huqiu District, Suzhou
Transportation | 20 minutes' drive from Suzhou Railway Station
Hotel Indigo Suzhou Canal is definitely a hidden gem. It is adjacent to the Suzhou section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. Not only does it have a 46-story high view, but it also cleverly combines the charm of Suzhou with modern architecture. The comfortable rooms reflect the culture of the Jiangnan Canal in every detail, rather than relying on traditional decorations.
The biggest highlight of the hotel is the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows. The rooms are simple and stylish, and the bedding and room facilities provide a great stay experience.
DRAKE ANDERSON
I declare this is the best value for money hotel in Suzhou.
InterContinental Suzhou
The openness of the high-rise panoramic room attracted me. There is a shopping mall downstairs, so eating and drinking is not a problem.
The experience of staying is good, better than the Jinpudun Zhuhui I stayed in last year, and I am willing to try the open suite next time!
1. Before check-in, a special person called to inform that it was for a birthday, and hoped to arrange a better room. The housekeeper arranged a panoramic room with a southwest view, which was spacious!
2. Convenient parking, with exclusive area. Check-in is on the 46th floor, and the front desk is very open.
3. The breakfast is delicious, although there are not many varieties, the quality is great.
4. The night view is really beautiful at night, it is recommended to try the bar on the 46th floor.
5. A cake was given for the birthday check-in, and I asked the room service for ice cubes🧊, brought my own whiskey🥃, and paired it with my favorite music (the room has Bluetooth audio), which is really great.
6. The infinity pool has a good view, but it's a bit small
7. I have to praise, the bedding is really super comfortable!

I came back to the Indigo Hotel on the Suzhou Ancient Canal, and I still love the Suzhou scenery.
This is my second time at this Indigo Hotel, located in the Lion Mountain Longhu in the High-tech Zone.
Ah, if the weather was clearer that day, it would be great😂
The high-altitude view will definitely make me fall in love with this Indigo Hotel even more.
Indigo, the brand concept is to integrate local tourism culture.
The design inspiration of this hotel comes from "The Prosperous Picture of Suzhou"🪭
Put the traditional neighborhood culture of the ancient canal into every corner of the hotel.
You see the hotel room card and you have the desire to collect it❤
🏨Hotel environment
The hotel lobby is located on the 46th floor, check in and then go to the guest room through a separate elevator.
PIER 46 specialty restaurant and bar are also on the 46th floor🍷
The high-altitude 360-degree panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows are really awesome.
📷You can overlook the Tiger Hill Tower, the Gate of the Orient and other landmark buildings.
The hotel area on the first floor is a classic Suzhou style, I really like the small bridges and flowing water.
🟠Room environment
This time I stayed in a two-sided panoramic room facing Lion Mountain.
Although there is no bathtub, the whole view is transparent, and I quietly enjoyed the sunset in the evening🌄
The room style is simple and clear, and many scenes are also in the style of Jiangnan ink painting.
🫧The elegant temperament makes me consider setting up a set at home.
🍜Hotel food
The recent afternoon tea is a joint name with Haagen-Dazs🍨
Chocolate ice cream is super satisfying, and the exquisite pastries are all delicious🥧
Breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner are a variety of optional set meals.
When there are few people, you can choose a window view position you like☀

Suzhou! Highly recommend this hidden gem hotel
Room prices fluctuate with seasons and holidays
Please be rational when considering this recommendation
🏨Name: Suzhou Grand Canal Indigo Hotel
☆Hotel Location
The hotel is located in Longhu Center on Shishan Road, Huqiu District. It has a superior geographical location, surrounded by shopping 🛍️ centers, making it very convenient for dining and shopping. Moreover, it is the tallest building in the area, offering excellent high-altitude views. It is also close to Hanshan Temple and Fengqiao Scenic Area.
☆The design of this hotel is really unique
Inspired by the painting 'Prosperous Suzhou,' it perfectly blends tradition with modernity 🖤. The central lobby features a boat-shaped design, seven hidden raccoons in the corners of the hotel, bamboo silk elements in wall murals, embroidered screens, circular light bands resembling water sleeves, and a large bronze bell for blessings, all rich in detail. It perfectly embodies the poetic scene of 'Outside Gusu City, Hanshan Temple, the midnight bell reaches the guest boat' 🍂.
☆The overall design of the room leans towards new Chinese style
It brings garden elements from Yipu into the guest rooms, with very comfortable color combinations. The black and gray carpet paired with sky blue accessories, Taihu stone ornaments, antique palace lanterns, and the fresh and elegant Suzhou embroidery on the headboard all exude elegance. The room has 270-degree panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, offering excellent views. The silhouette of Tiger Hill Pagoda is particularly charming in the night, and sitting by the window to enjoy the night view 🌃 greatly enhances the atmosphere! The mini-bar is free, with a rich selection of drinks. The hotel thoughtfully provides milk 🥛 in addition to bottled water. The room facilities are also very good, with an intelligent toilet seat and a separate wet and dry bathroom, making it very convenient to use 😝.
☆Facilities
The hotel has complete facilities, including a large indoor heated swimming pool and a gym. I went for a swim 🏊🏻♀️ and then steamed for a while, feeling super comfortable.
☆The service attitude of the staff is also very good
They are enthusiastic and considerate. Staff help with luggage during check-in and check-out, and any issues are promptly resolved.

First time in Suzhou? This is the place to go!
Suzhou Hotel Recommendation | Suzhou Grand Canal Indigo
Let's get to the point: Chinese elements (mainly 'bamboo') with exquisite details, high floors (40+) offer quite a good view, and downstairs is the Longhu Commercial Area, with the Suzhou Museum West Pavilion just a stone's throw away.
On a whim over the weekend, I went to Suzhou. Little Fatty booked this Indigo, and it was fine. This is the second time I've stayed at an Indigo, so let's see how this one in Suzhou is.
The parking lot is in a designated area on B3 of the mall. You need to turn from the first floor and then go straight to the lobby on the 46th floor. The guest rooms are also basically on the high floors around the 40th floor, offering a relatively open view. But the hotel said you could see the Tiger Hill Pagoda... maybe my eyes aren't sharp enough.
The room is in a new Chinese style, from the headboard background, sofa arrangement, to the design of the tissue box and washbasin, all containing elements of gardens, bamboo, flowers, and birds. Hey, it fits this city very well.
The room space is relatively standard, the bathroom is quite large, and the toiletries provided are of good quality. Additionally, there are complimentary drinks in the fridge, which is quite considerate.
◆ The breakfast variety is not too much, but it is quite exquisite, and the taste is okay. I didn't have lunch or dinner at the hotel, after all, downstairs is Longhu Shishan Tianjie, super convenient for shopping and dining!
◆ Personally, if you want to visit the Suzhou Museum West Pavilion, I highly recommend this hotel. After all, it's really close. One more thing, I haven't been to the Suzhou Museum, but the West Pavilion is really worth a visit!

Suzhou, I've tried it for everyone, and this place is really nice to stay
Misty rain blurs the view, like an ink painting of the south of the Yangtze River
I accidentally fell into the beautiful scenery of Gusu
Checked in at the long-recommended Indigo Hotel by the Suzhou Ancient Canal
🏨:
The hotel blends classic with trendy
Drawing elements from 'Prosperous Suzhou'
Elements like the black-awning boats, Seven-mile Shantang, and Kunqu opera are scattered everywhere
The hotel brings Gusu to the clouds, and with the light rain, it's like a fairyland!
🛏️
Beep, as the curtains slowly rise, the cityscape of Gusu also comes into view
The small sofa next to the floor-to-ceiling window is really suitable for zoning out
The thoughtful hand-drawn greeting card paired with welcome fruit is very considerate
The dry and wet separation design with a comfortable cloakroom
Can be said to hit people's hearts directly, super convenient!!!
Little tips: The first round of the Mini Bar is also 🆓
🏃
Fitness enthusiasts must go to the gym on the 44th floor
Huge floor-to-ceiling windows, you can 🉑️ overlook the entire cityscape while exercising
The swimming pool is on the other side of the gym
Great for photos, the only downside is that it's crowded......
📷Photo spots:
🌟: The internet-famous staircase between the 45th and 46th floors
🌟: The night view on the 45th floor is super photogenic
🌟: The lobby is YYDS
🌟: The hotel's raccoon ornament
🌟: The archway on the first floor of the hotel
Hotel surroundings:
The hotel is located at the Longhu Center on Shishan Road, with Longhu Tianjie right downstairs. For those who like to staycation, shopping and dining are all in one place. The hotel is also super convenient to famous attractions like the Humble Administrator's Garden and Tiger Hill, highly recommended!!!
A straw rain cape pillows the south of the Yangtze River, looking forward to the next trip to Gusu!

Mooring by Maple Bridge at Night | Indigo Suzhou Ancient Canal
Mooring by Maple Bridge at Night | The lobby and public areas of Indigo Suzhou Ancient Canal are the first of their kind in Jiangsu Province, boasting an impressive design and substantial content. Even among the numerous Indigo hotels in the Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai region, its design stands out as exceptional.
The hotel enjoys an excellent location in the heart of Suzhou New District, as part of the Longhu City complex, surrounded by a wealth of tourist attractions. Suzhou Amusement Land, Suzhou Museum West Branch, and Huaihai Street are just a stone's throw away, while Hanshan Temple and Tiger Hill Pagoda are also easily accessible. The ancient city district is also nearby.
As a seasoned traveler of Hyatt and Marriott, I find myself pressed for time and overwhelmed with tasks this year. High-speed rail travel has become a luxury, and staycations no longer offer a sense of novelty. However, I've never been particularly fond of IHG. With only a few exceptional properties like the Six Senses and the recently rising Kimpton, it's the Indigo brand that has been rapidly expanding its territory in recent years. So, let's go.
One advantage of HBA over CCD is that there's always something new. With a reliable owner, the storyline is more complete.
The hotel's drop-off area avoids the bustling main road, filtering out the noise with just a turn. What greets you is a layered waterscape and a small Jiangnan scene adorned with welcoming pines. The metallic Taihu rocks connected to the blue Taihu rock art pieces are quite eye-catching. The bright orange color constantly reminds guests of Indigo's neighborhood culture, which, in this aspect, seems to overlap with Hilton's Canopy.
The climax of the experience is inspired by Zhang Ji's 'Mooring by Maple Bridge at Night.' The ground floor reception lobby is transformed by HBA into a misty version of Gusu water town. The arched bridge tunnel paved with blue bricks, the rippling water replicated with light and shadow, and the slowly advancing copper-covered boat make the entire space poetic and dynamically fashionable.
The 46th-floor sky lobby continues this theme, with the ceaseless flow of the canal water suspended overhead. The giant chandelier, reminiscent of silk water sleeves in dance, is like a famous actor performing Kunqu opera against the city skyline. The embroidery-like texture details are truly astonishing.
A bustling city with an elegant peach garden, an ordinary Sunday becomes slightly tipsy with daylight because of such a hotel.

Suzhou | On the banks of the ancient canal, you can live in Gusu City in just a second
How can one not love Suzhou?
Especially during the flower season in March and April in the south of the Yangtze River, it's exceptionally beautiful.
When visiting Suzhou, you can't miss the ancient canal Indigo Hotel.
It's a very high aesthetic hotel with a strong design sense, and it's also a favorite Indigo of mine.
Directly experience the softness and gentleness of the Jiangnan water towns from the heights of Suzhou City.
The two distinctive Taihu rocks at the hotel entrance, the black-awning boat inspired by the 'Maple Bridge Night Mooring', and the seven civet cats hidden in corners throughout the hotel, make for great photo opportunities, don't they?
The room design also integrates the characteristics of Suzhou gardens very well, full of attention to detail, and is relatively close to Hanshan Temple, Xiyuan Temple, and the Master of the Nets Garden.

The Wandering Foodie s Adventures
The ancient charm of Suzhou City meets modern Indigo
Suzhou is one of the cities particularly favored by InterContinental Hotels Group. There are too many popular hotels, such as InterContinental, Crown Holiday, Indigo, etc. This time, I stayed in this Indigo hotel located in the new district during the summer vacation. As soon as I stepped into the first floor reception hall, the ancient canal boat under the LED effect is moored in the sparkling light, welcoming guests to stay here. Every step depicts the historical and cultural elements of this famous southern city. The 46-story lobby boldly outlines large-scale decorations with Suzhou silk elements. There are so many rest seats in the lobby that are rarely seen today. It can be seen that Indigo's socialization with the neighborhood culture has penetrated into the bone marrow. The large floor-to-ceiling window rest area on the 45th floor allows guests to completely release the pressure at this moment. Although the guest rooms are slightly crowded, this is still a hotel worth visiting specifically to check in.

In the Indigo Hotel on the ancient Suzhou Canal, enter the single bedroom panoramic suite, where Suzhou-style elements are meticulously presented in every corner, as if it is a small garden mansion. The embellishment of bright yellow and dark green adds vitality to the space, and the screens, bonsai, and flower windows all exude the precipitation of time and classical elegance.
WanderlustVoyage
Optimism and passion are the antidotes in a tired life!
'Up in heaven, down in Suzhou and Hangzhou' is well known, but some people just know it, without personal experience, that's a different story; small bridges and flowing water, pink walls and black tiles, a long alley, the slow sound of 'clang clang car' rolling on the stone road, you can know the long and profound history of this 4000-year-old historical and cultural city.
Cloud elevator: When I took the elevator, it gave me some surprises. The elevator is set against the background of green bamboo, and the picture is some corridors, which also shows the inspiration of the hotel to some extent.
Lobby: The lobby here also uses the method that Indigo is good at to deconstruct elements. Personally, I suggest that you can take pictures at night, and the lighting effect at night will become very dreamy.
Hotel rooms: The rooms are mainly concentrated on the 32-44 floors. Each room has floor-to-ceiling windows with a very good view. This stay also comes with a mini bar, which is very refreshing to drink at night.
Fitness area: If you go swimming or fitness, it is on the 44th floor, and the gym is open 24 hours.
Spiral staircase: The spiral staircase is located on the 45th floor, and the reflection effect will be great at night.
About the restaurant:
The hotel's restaurant is also on the 46th floor. The Chinese and Western buffet breakfast is quite rich, with eggs, noodles, juice, etc. I recommend you to try the wonton and noodles here, they are very good!

For those who like high-rise hotels, try this Indigo Hotel in Suzhou
When traveling with children, you also want to make the children happy, and they generally won't refuse high-rise hotels. Located on the 40th floor, the Indigo Hotel is quite unique.
⭐Location: Located next to the ancient canal, it is a quiet place in the bustling city, connected to the shopping mall, the supermarket is downstairs, shopping is very convenient, you don't even need to go out.
⭐Environment: To go to the lobby, you have to take the elevator to the high-rise around the 40th floor. The lobby is on the top floor, and the rooms are all on the 30th floor. The city view in the room is not bad, and children naturally like it. The room is more modern, with a modern and simple decoration style. The embroidered stand turns into a metal screen, naturally enclosing several semi-open rest areas. The stacking and collision of different materials such as metal, leather, fabric, and marble will not make people feel conflicting, which shows Indigo's bold and unrestricted handwriting.
⭐Service Quality: The waiters are enthusiastic and friendly, and the hotel also has afternoon tea activities and children's activities. If you stay, you can take your children to participate for free.
In general, the Indigo Hotel on the ancient canal in Suzhou is decent in all aspects. As a fashionable brand under Intercontinental, it also experiences its full design sense and modern intelligence. But if there is anything special, it seems that there is really nothing. Some content may be too templated, and there will be less human touch and fireworks. In fact, overall, the price is not cheap, so the cost performance of the hotel is not too high, there are not too many memory points, but the children really like it, that's good!

In Suzhou! Young trendsetters check in at the Indigo Hotel on the ancient Grand Canal
Both are from HBA, but I personally prefer the Indigo in Hangzhou's Shangcheng, which has a better location and is a low-rise design. After all, being able to open the window, no matter how good the fresh air system is, it can't compare to natural wind.
The Grand Canal winding outside the city of Suzhou connects the long history with the prosperity of the past and present, and the cultural context of a thousand years is surging. The hotel is adjacent to the Suzhou section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. It is designed by HBA Architecture Design Co., Ltd. in Singapore. It draws inspiration from the masterpiece 'Prosperous Suzhou' that depicts the canal culture. This painting was created by Xu Yang, a court painter from Suzhou in the Qing Dynasty, over a period of 24 years and is over twelve meters long. The famous Weaving Bureau, the Qili Shantang in the streets and alleys, the delicate and charming Kunqu culture, and the classical and elegant Suzhou traditional gardens are interpreted in a modern way and integrated into every space. As you move around, the architecture and cultural charm of Suzhou come into view.
