Lunch on the terrace while looking at the scenery in Ortisei, Seceda, a rock mountain created by beautiful nature, Santa Cristina, where you can see beautiful scenery no matter where you turn your head. All three of these places were great. Since the three routes are close together, it would be good to visit them all in one course. The Colle line is the oldest manned cable car in the world, having been in operation since 1908. I chose the Bolzano-Renon route. The journey is very long, 4556 meters long. The 12-minute journey has super beautiful scenery along the way, especially in autumn, it is definitely worth it! We quickly went up from Bolzano to the Soprabolzano cable car station, where we continued our journey by taking the train to Renon. Among them, the famous one is the saw-shaped Parco Naturale Puez-Odle. The colors of the mountains are beautiful in the autumn at the end of October! There are numerous hiking trails in the nature park (difficulty: from suitable for family trails, mountain bike trails, to those that satisfy mountain climbing enthusiasts) That day, we set out from Santa Maddalena in Val Di Funes and took bus number 339 (which only runs until the end of October) to Zanserhütte, the starting point of many hiking trails in Parco Naturale Puez-Odle. The route for this day was the classic Adolf Munkel Weg route, starting from Zannes (bus stop location), via trails 6, 35, 36, and finally back to the starting point in Zannes. The whole journey takes about three hours, from the starting point at an altitude of 1,680 meters to the highest point of the route at 1,902 meters. This route can be completed by ordinary people, and along the way you will be at the foot of the spectacular Puez Odle peaks. 🔶Itinerary suggestions🔶 But I set out on a weekday so there weren't too many people. Although I did meet other hikers along the way, solo hikers need to make adequate preparations before setting out, and the map route should be determined in advance. Moreover, the temperature in the mountains is quite cold, so you should bring more warm clothes. The exhibits include art paintings of some mountains, mountaineering equipment, mountaineering books and notes, etc. 💗The museum was designed by the world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid ~ It looks like a screen, showing the beautiful scenery of the snow-capped mountains. Hotel Greif is a charming 4-star hotel with an excellent location, just a 5-minute walk from the train station. However, do note that the road leading to the hotel is a stone-paved street, which makes pulling luggage a bit challenging. The check-in and check-out process was smooth, and we were pleasantly surprised when the reception allowed us to check in early at around 12 PM. However, we decided to leave our luggage and head out to explore the city first. The room was very spacious and beautifully designed with artistic elements. After reading the hotel’s introduction, I discovered that each room was uniquely designed by a different artist, which made our stay feel even more special. The bathtub was a great addition, adding extra comfort to our stay. Breakfast was impressive, offering a wide variety of high-quality options. A kind and attentive staff member also served hot food on demand, which enhanced the dining experience. One downside was the shared sauna, which was open to all genders and not private, so we decided not to use it. Additionally, there was only one USB port in the room, which made charging our devices a bit inconvenient, especially since we accidentally left our universal adapter at our previous hotel. Unfortunately, the hotel did not have any chargers available to borrow. Overall, our stay at Hotel Greif was very enjoyable. Despite a few minor inconveniences, the excellent location, spacious rooms, and great service made it a memorable experience. Wonderful to see flowers in the winter. The winter in this area is rather cold, the normal greeny color is often wiped out early November leaving the entire area in the dark gray and even the white snow for weeks. It was a nice sunny Sunday that we decided to hit the trail in the nearby mountain. At the end of the journey, we were excited to see some colorful flowers, though planted by someone.
