I went to Horaibashi Bridge over the Oi River in Shizuoka, known as the longest wooden footbridge in the world!
It is a wooden footbridge with a total length of 897.4 meters and a width of 2.4 meters.
It is still used as a farm road, but unfortunately, due to construction work, I was only able to go partway across!
When the weather is good, you can see the World Heritage site Mt. Fuji!!
Please go and check it out!

[Shizuoka Trip] The world's longest wooden pedestrian bridge
Horaibashi Bridge is a wooden pedestrian bridge spanning the Oi River, with a total length of 897.4m.
Long trees = long-lived bridges,
and the bridge's total length of 897.4 (yaku-nashi = no misfortune) is a play on words, making it a popular bridge for good luck.
The bridge has supported people's lives for over 100 years, despite being hit by various natural disasters,
and not only does it give a sense of history,
but it also gives a sense of something invisible that is filled with people's thoughts,
and is full of such charms.
There are many tourist attractions in the surrounding area, so why not include it in your travel plans?
Please come and visit! !

[You're missing out if you don't see it] The benefits are protection from misfortune and long life!? A great value spot where you can enjoy the spectacular view of a wooden bridge for just 100 yen✨
Horaibashi Bridge, which crosses the Oi River, is a wooden footbridge with a total length of 897.4 meters and a width of 2.4 meters, and is still used as a farm road ✨✨✨ Also, when the weather is good, you can see Mt. Fuji 🗻 from the bridge. This bridge was certified by the Guinness World Records on December 30, 1997 as the "longest wooden footbridge in the world" due to its length, and is considered a valuable historical land improvement facility that attracts many tourists from inside and outside the prefecture 😌 In addition, wooden bridge = long trees = long life, and the wordplay of "total length 897.4 (yaku-nashi)" makes it a familiar "bridge to ward off evil", and it is loved by many people as a lucky place 🥹
⚠️Caution⚠️ The handrail of the bridge is only about knee-height for adults. There is a risk of falling, so we recommend that small children hold hands tightly when crossing.

Horai Bridge over the Oi River in Shimada City, Shizuoka Prefecture!
A wooden bridge with a total length of 897.4 meters and a width of 2.4 meters.
It is certified by Guinness as the "longest wooden footbridge in the world"!
The bridge is popular as a lucky bridge because the long tree means "longevity" and the total length of 897.4 meters (yaku-nashi = no misfortune) is a play on words🩵
On a clear day, you can get a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji🗻
The day I visited, it was windy and a little scary lol
But the view from the bridge was good, and the view from the hill beyond the bridge was also wonderful🥰
There is also a teahouse at the foot of the bridge, where you can enjoy delicious Shizuoka tea, making it a great spot!
