You can learn and read about how yeonnamdong was constructed. Back in the days, this area is a river stream known as “Segyo Silgaecheong Brook”. It was then developed into a forest trail and then Line 2 Subway was constructed which goes all the way to Gimpo and Incheon airport. There is even a red mailbox specially built to create lasting memories. Finally I have reach the residential area of Yeonnamdong park. The straight line distance from the housing area to Hongik University station exit 3 is about 15 to 20 minutes. It is a good distance and you can do a workout to clock steps everyday. There is a neighbourhood park here for the residents and the housing here looks more like public housing. The blocks of flats look just like our HDB in Singapore. The park is lovely and you can see many dogs here. It is also a fitness park and many flowers are planted here. I have walk through the entire Yeonnamdong district, starting from Hongik University station exit 3 and I take the anti-clockwise approach around it. There are many smaller alleys so you also can explore it too. It will be better to explore in the day because most of the cafes and restaurants close early. I also walk the residential area and mostly it is a gentle upslope so you will need a pair of shoes, no heels for the ladies please. All the cafes and restaurants here are stand-alone building. There are really too many selfie studios in Seoul and each selfie studio are totally different concept. They even provide free props for you to take photos. It's common sense to eat Korean beef in Korea🤭 A Korean friend even asked me out in Hongdae? Not a racecourse hole? ! This shop named HongdaePo serves an assortment of pancakes which materials were coated in eggs and pan fried.
