I found a great budget hotel in Tianjin! I'll definitely stay here again next time.
My experience staying at the Holiday Inn Tianjin Riverside
I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Tianjin Riverside for two nights, with each night costing CNY 650. I'm here to share my experience with you all, and I hope it can be of some help.
Pros
🏘️️️Room type/layout: The hotel environment and facilities are excellent, and the room was very clean, which was reassuring. The room was spacious and comfortable, and there were two sinks, which was very convenient for two people. I stayed in a room at the end of the corridor, which was very quiet.
🛌Supplies/facilities: The hotel has a heated swimming pool and gym, which are open from 7 am to 10 pm. You need to swipe your card to enter, which is very convenient for those who like to work out and swim. The service was also very warm and welcoming. They provided fruit upon check-in and asked for my invoicing information, so they could prepare the invoice before I checked out, which saved me time.
Cons
🛌Supplies/facilities: The quality of the toiletries could be improved. The two toothbrushes provided at the front desk were not very good, and were even worse than those provided by some homestays. The hairdryer looked like it had been used for a long time, so I hope the hotel can update it. Although the pillowcases were labeled as soft and firm, they were both soft, and the pillows collapsed easily, which was uncomfortable. When I checked out, the hotel called to ask about my stay, and I was told that I could ask for a buckwheat pillow at the front desk. I suggest the hotel remind guests of this when they check in.
🍽️Dining: The breakfast selection was quite ordinary. I went to eat before 7 am, and the fried eggs were already prepared and placed on a plate, rather than being made to order. The eggs were hard and cold. There was a wide selection of bread and porridge, but there were no wontons or other special foods, and there were few meat dishes.
Other aspects
💰️Average cost: The price was CNY 650 per night, and the overall experience was average value for money.
💗Other tips: The hotel is located in the old town of Nankai, which is a certain distance from the subway station. Public transportation is not very convenient, so it's more suitable for those driving or taking a taxi. There are many office buildings nearby, so it's more suitable for business trips. If you're traveling, I suggest you consider your itinerary and transportation options. I also stayed at another hotel in the northwest corner, which I'll share with you later.
