Hey guys, today I'm sharing my one-day itinerary in Cardiff 😆 🎈Here's my route: Starting from the train station, my first stop was the Millennium Stadium, then I headed to the castle, exited from the side of Bute Park, went to the City Hall, and then to the free National Museum. After that, I walked south to the city center, where there's a large shopping mall called Queens Arcade, with all the major brands. My friends in Exeter would be envious! Then I continued south through the mall and found a large 5-story second-hand building called P4, which has comic books and all sorts of interesting things to explore. Finally, I went to the seaside, where Cardiff Boat Tours offers stunning views. Overall, Cardiff is a big city with lots of people, beautiful attractions, and a relaxing seaside. 🍜 As for food, I visited two Chinese restaurants recommended by local friends. One is called Little Restaurant, which serves generous portions of noodles and rice. The other is Happy Gathering, which offers amazing dim sum. It opens at 12 pm and is always crowded, with a lively atmosphere. 🏨 For accommodation, I stayed for one night at the Angel Hotel opposite the castle. The facilities were quite complete, and the experience was good.

Cardiff market is an iconic landmark in the city center that feels like a time portal to a bygone era. The indoor market was opened in 1891 and has kept most of its original features, it has two main entrances and it’s a hub of activity. The market has everything you could need from jewellers and cobblers to butchers and grocers. There are great hot food options with Mexican, Indian, Thai and even freshly made Welsh cakes. The National Museum of Wales is a fantastic free day out for the whole family, located in the heart of Cardiff’s civic center. The museum is housed in a stunning building and houses both a natural history museum, art gallery and dedicated sections about the history of wales itself. The museum is famous for it’s large collection of dinosaur bones and life size models, I remember going so many times as a child - so it’s amazing to be able to come back and visit again. The natural history galleries are on the lower floors with the art galleries on the higher floors and through the extensions added to the back of the building. There is a nice cafe and gift shop in the main atrium where you can sit back and take in the stunning building around you. Name: Mrs. Pott Hostel Location: 109 St. Mary Street, Cardiff, UK This is one of the very few hostels in Cardiff, it very affordable with less than £20 a night for a dorm bed. Free hot drinks are available self serviced. The location of this place is perfect, only 6 mins walk from Cardiff Castle. Shopping mall and all restaurants are just around! The bed comes with curtains so privacy is ensured. Washroom and shower is also very clean. Unfortunately Wifi isn’t easily connected in rooms. Cardiff is the capital of Wales, a coastal city, very comfortable. We arrived in Cardiff by train from Gloucester the night before, found a hotel to stay in that night, and started our one-day tour of Cardiff the next day. It doesn't get dark until 7 or 8 o'clock after British Summer Time, so the time for sightseeing is greatly extended. In the morning we went to Cardiff market and bought some Welsh biscuits. We bought two of each flavour, including coconut jam, chocolate, traditional and lemon flavours. Ten pieces cost 4.5 pounds. They tasted sweet and very good. Then we walked to Cardiff Castle, took some photos there, and took a walk inside. It felt so magnificent. Then walk to the Cardiff Museum, which houses Monet's water lilies and is also a great place to take photos. Then we bought a day bus pass for 3.8 pounds and started our bus tour. We first had a meal, a South American dish called wings of glory. The dishes tasted very novel and worth trying. The boss was also very nice. The bathroom also provided free tampons and sanitary napkins, which was very thoughtful. Then we took a car to the beach and went to Cardiff Bay. The sunshine was great and the wind was not strong. Visited Cardiff alone after meeting my friends studying in Bristol, the place where I spent a night at, hotel Indigo has super nice staff who are friendly and smiley all the time:)My favourite moment is when I got into Cardiff Market and bought cakes from Bakestones-nice old bakery with super delicious pastry which reminds me of HK’s authentic bakery. Lovely trip to Cardiff, went to see Pet Shop Boys at Cardiff castle, so busy enjoying the music I forgot to take photos. Went back to the castle next day to explore the grounds in daylight and was not disappointed. Lots of arcades in the city center to enjoy a bit of shopping, lunch and drinks.

Great little journey

Cardiff is the capital of wales and although it’s relatively small compared to other British cities it has a lot to offer visitors. My favourite thing to do in the city is visit the National Museum Of Wales, and the best thing about it a it’s totally free! Located in the civic center next to city hall it’s a short walk from the city center and its main transport hubs. It’s also very close to Cardiff castle and Bute park, two other highlights of the city. The museum currently has a full scale replica of a willy mammoth in its main hall and some temporary exhibits about photo journalism. There is also a seasonal exhibit about it the history of hip hop in Wales, very niche but interesting. The museum is famous for its art collection which was donated in the early 20th century by two of its main patrons - the ‘blue lady’ being the most famous. The painting is just back from loan and is back to being the centrepiece of the main gallery. The museum also has impressive ceramic, ornament and furniture collections which are displayed throughout the various galleries. For families and children the lower levels have an amazing natural history area that features dinosaurs really, due to the surprisingly high amount of fossils found in wales. I walked along the waterfront, enjoyed a coffee overlooking the water, and admired the striking architecture of the Senedd (Welsh Parliament) and the Wales Millennium Centre. The atmosphere was relaxed, with families, tourists, and locals all enjoying the sunshine. This quick trip showed me two very different sides of Cardiff, each with its own character. An absolute gem in the heart of the city! Cardiff Market is the perfect blend of historic charm and modern energy. The Victorian architecture gives it so much character, and the atmosphere is always buzzing without feeling overwhelming. There’s a fantastic mix of food stalls offering everything from Welsh cakes and fresh seafood. While the market can be a bit crowded, especially on weekends, this only adds to its charm. It's a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the heart of Cardiff's community and discover some hidden gems.

Beautiful park. Just lush. Huge trees my favourite being the multi stemmed wingnut near the bridge. This Park is owned by the people of Cardiff as was left to them, with the castle, by the last lord of Bute. I especially loved how close it is to the city centre, you’re just minutes from shops and cafes, but it feels like a world away. It’s also very clean, safe, and dog-friendly, with plenty of spots to sit and unwind. A must-visit if you’re in Cardiff. Perfect for locals and tourists alike.

Nice experience. Very lovely staffs. Inside is quite spacious like a mini park. Totally enjoyed the time. Guided tour is available for certain restricted part of the castle. Got a very nice panoramic view of the city from the tower. We even liked meandering the castle walls for stunning views of the castle and the courtyard. In the gift shop area, there’s also a spot were you can see the old Roman foundations dating back thousands of years and a little museum with fun pieces and wonderful staff to answer any questions. If we’re ever back in Cardiff, we’ll visit the castle again!

There was a lot to see about the history of the earth, history of Cardiff and evolution. For the art lovers, the museum also offers a good art collection. There is a souvenir shop, and a cafe if you wanted to grab something. There are skeletons, replicas and audio visual displays something for all ages, science for adults and replicas and interactive bits for the kids. There are toilets and a café in the entrance. Entry to everything is free but if you can afford it I would encourage making a donation.
