【Fukuoka】Seeking Bodhi Mountain
Located on the border between Buzen City and Chikujo County in Fukuoka Prefecture, this mountain has an altitude of 782m and is said to have once been a mountain of Shugendo ⛰✨
Many ruins and relics remain in the mountains, including purification sites used for training and places where mountain ascetics lived, some of which are designated as national treasures or important cultural properties of Japan 😊
The hiking trail, which is located in a forest rich in nature, was well maintained and very easy to walk on 🎶
In places where it is easy to slip, handrails made of tree branches were installed, which gave a very warm feeling 😉😑
Halfway up the path, there is a steep stone staircase called the "Oni no Ishidan" (Demon's Stone Steps), which is said to have been used to ward off violent demons. It is said that in order to defeat the demons, the Gongen of Mount Kubotei ordered the demons to "make stone steps in one night or leave the mountain." This is how it was created. 👹 There are 850 steps, so I counted them as I climbed, but it felt like there were more... 🤔💭 lol When I reached the top of the demons' stone steps, I could see Kokuo Shrine Kamimiya, and this was the summit ☺️ In a small square, I had cup noodles, which is a regular thing when climbing 🍜💕 Although it is a low mountain, it was a very satisfying mountain to climb while observing the ruins and plants in the mountain rich in nature 🙆♀️ The damp feeling of the moss after a little rain was also wonderful, like a scene from Princess Mononoke 🌱✨☔ #Fukuoka #Mountain climbing #Girls climbing #Mount Kubotei #Historic site #Support tourism #A trip to enjoy spring
