[2025 Gangneung-si Stay] Travel Guide for Hi Ocean Gyeongpo (Updated May)

It's a residence-type hotel, so the rooms are equipped with induction, sink, washing machine, etc. and the microwave oven was really, really nice. There are basic amenities, but there are no toothpaste or toothbrushes, so you can bring your own or buy them from the vending machine on the first floor. Of course, there are differences in room conditions and auxiliary facilities compared to Sky Bay, but it's a great value for money place, and the view of Sky Bay from the window is pretty. I stayed in room A303. It was a low floor so I could see the lake, but the building in front blocked the view so it wasn't a wide open view. The room was clean and tidy, and the bed and pillow were in good condition so I had a good night's sleep. I didn't think I would use the washing machine, but it was useful because I could wash and spin-dry food stains on my clothes. However, the soundproofing was poor so I could hear footsteps and coughs from upstairs. Other than that, there was no inconvenience for two people to stay overnight.

The lower window seemed to have a sheet attached to it for privacy, so I couldn't see the lake while lying down, but I could see it from the bar table. It's newly built, so it's very clean without any signs of use. There's a kitchen and a washing machine, so it feels more like visiting a friend's newly built officetel studio than a hotel. The cleaning condition was good. (Not perfect..) There is an 8th floor rooftop garden at the High Ocean Gyeongpo Hotel. When you go up, you can see the ocean and the lake at a glance. It is open from 5 AM so that you can see the sunrise here. On the other side, you can see the mountain range, so you can enjoy the 360-degree view. There are lights and many tables, so it would be nice to spend time eating a simple take-out meal in the evening.
