✅HERITAGE OF CEBU MONUMENT✅🔝
🌟🌟🇵🇭
🔝✅The Heritage of Cebu also known as the Parian Monument, is a monument in Cebu City, Philippines 🇵🇭. it is an illustration and representation of sculptures made of brass, bronze, concrete, and steel. The events depicted in the monument are the baptism of Rajah Humabon and his people, a Roman Catholic Mass ⛪, Santo Nino procession, and the Battle of Mactan between Lapu-Lapu and Ferdinand Magellan.
🌟It was built by the national multi-awarded artist Eduardo Castrillo. The construction of the monument, funded by the late senator Marcelo Fernan along with some donations, started in July 1997. Three years later, on December 8, 2000, the monument was finished and introduced to the public.
📍The monument is located in the Parian Plaza of Cebu's Parian District. The Parian has historical merit of its own as the district was built exclusively to house Chinese merchants and their families in Cebu during the Spanish period (Yap – Samdiego Ancestral House)

City tour
#2023travelwish
With the pandemic, local tourism is badly affected. It was glad to know from my latest trip this 2022 that our local tourism is starting to recover like in Cebu City Philippines. Cebu is known as the queen city of the south. One of the top favorite tour in Cebu is its city tour which includes a visit to the Heritage Monument, La Vie Parisienne, CCLEX, and 10,000 Roses to name a few.

Revisiting Colonial Philippines' in Cebu
Cebu City has become one of the "modern" cities in The Philippines, almost comparable to the country's Capital, Manila. But somewhere in the city sprawling new and modern high-rise buildings still stand of traces of history and cultural heritage.
A quick look at history: The Philippines was (accidentaly) discovered by Spain through the Portugese explorer, Ferdinand Magellan, in his quest for the Spice Island (Malacca). The rest was a 333 years of Spanish occupation which mostly shaped the Philippines until its post-war "Americanization", which is what you would mostly see in the country's big cities nowadays.
Cebu is the perfect place to go to revisit the Philippines rich history and heritage. Old colonial houses, parks and plazas and old churches and ruins remained accessible for everyone to have a better appreciation and understanding of what and how the country become what it is today.

First stop when you visit Cebu
Cebu is a city rich in history, with centuries of invasions, conflicts, and revolutions. For a summary, go to Cebu Heritage Monument.
The structure is a tangled sculpture of ships, churches, crosses, and major historical people made of dark stone and bricks that is as cryptic as it is thought stimulating. Consider hiring a tour before of time or accepting one when you arrive, as there is centuries of history and tales to be told. You'll appreciate the local interaction, have the opportunity to ask burning questions, and learn some background information that you wouldn't have learned otherwise.
This is an excellent way to begin your holiday in Cebu because it will provide you with useful background for the rest of your stay. #createwithtrip #beachlife #themepark #staycation #skiadventure

CEBU HERITAGE MONUMENT 🗿
Another monument that I always pass by everytime I go to Parian. This is the Cebu Heritage Monument, and it symbolizes the history of the Philippines, with our heroes and our Oppressor carved in it.
It can be easily found. It is located right at the end of Colon Street, approaching the entrance if Parian.

The Heritage of Cebu Monument will not just amaze you on how the design was made, but also will give you enough knowledge about the history of Cebu. The sculptures are very huge and is just wonderful to look at. Aside from it is just near the oldest street of Cebu City, it has no entrance fee as well. You can just mesmerize on the sculptures and get to know the history of the City, especially, how Christianity started.
