⛰️ Only 200 meters high but hard to climb - In the old town of Quito, Ecuador 🇪🇨, there is a mountain that looks like a loaf of bread. It is only 200 meters high, but because Quito is already at an altitude of 2800+, it is still a strenuous climb. - It costs about $2.5 to take a taxi from Independence Square to the El Panecillo observation deck, or you can try the bus, which costs only $0.35. After getting off the bus, there is a long staircase with more than 800 steps, and climbing up it will take you to the observation deck, but climbing the stairs at high altitude instantly reminded me of climbing the Potala Palace. There are food and drinks on the top of the mountain, as well as a sloping green area where you can enjoy the breeze and daydream. The view of the entire old town of Quito from the top of the mountain is spectacular. The restroom is very clean and costs $0.25. - 👩 The world's tallest aluminum statue - The tallest statue in Ecuador is the Virgin Mary on Bread Mountain, which is 45 meters high, including the base, and is taller than the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. You can go up three floors, where there are beautiful glass windows, and the next floor has some detailed photos and historical information about the statue, and the next floor is the observation deck. - 🚓 Invited into a police car after dark - Before going up the mountain, I was warned by the owner of the guesthouse, the bus ticket seller, and passersby that the mountain was dangerous, especially after dark, when the probability of being robbed was extremely high. But the view from the top of the mountain was so beautiful, especially the afterglow of the sunset reflecting on this small mountain town, that I stayed until the city was full of stars without realizing it. - There were fewer and fewer people on the top of the mountain, but we couldn't get a ride, and it was said that local drivers didn't dare to go up the mountain at night. That's when the local police noticed our Asian faces and tourist outfits and were very surprised that we were still on the mountain so late, and they told us to get in the car. El Panecillo is a hill with an average altitude of over 200 meters, formed by loess soil, located between the southern and central parts of Quito, Ecuador. The highest point of the hill reaches an altitude of 3016 meters; according to the Jesuit historian Juan de Velasco, there used to be a Sun Temple built by the indigenous people on the summit of El Panecillo, which was later destroyed by Spanish invaders. In 1976, a religious organization commissioned a Spanish artist to build a 45-meter-tall statue of the Virgin Mary on the summit! The inauguration ceremony for the Virgin statue was held on March 18, 1976, by the 11th Archbishop of Quito; the statue of the Virgin was designed and built by the people of Quito; it is hailed as a symbol of the struggle for independence and freedom in Quito! After visiting the Vow's Cathedral coming from the subway through the old town, you arrive at the foot of Panecillo. It takes about ten minutes to walk to the steps leading up to the hill, with over 800 steps to reach the foot of the Virgin statue. Alternatively, you can take a car up the winding road to the top of the hill, where various service facilities are available, along with a green area on the summit. It is a very nice and clean hostel. It has multiple nice and fancy amenities. I would highly recommend staying here as I believe jt to be one of the better hostels in Quito and the staff is great. One warning, shower at night because there is no warm water in the morning unless you fancy a cold shower.

Uspenski Cathedral ( located up on the mountain, next to the market square of Helsinki, spectacular view in night view) tips for travelling in Helsinki or Finland Currency: Euro Travelling: by plane or by cruise from Oslo or Stockholm Weather: the road is covered by ice or snow and it would be difficult to walk if you have heavy luggage, so it is suggested to find hotel next to the central station activity: since the sunlight hour is short in Helsinki during winter, so it is suggested to go out earlier. shops are closed early and it is especially cold at night.
