From Chennai to London: A Journey of Colors, Creativity, and New Beginnings
A Farewell in Color: The Organic Rangoli Competition
Just a week before boarding my flight from Chennai to London Heathrow, I immersed myself in a vibrant celebration of tradition and sustainability. The occasion was an organic rangoli competition—a unique challenge that required participants to create beautiful designs using only eco-friendly materials, strictly avoiding plastic. Together with a friend, I crafted a rangoli masterpiece using colored rice, blending artistry with environmental consciousness.

The experience was not just about creativity, but also about making a statement: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle—Say No to Plastic. Our rangoli depicted these messages boldly, with bright hues and intricate patterns symbolizing the harmony between culture and nature. The process of coloring rice, planning the design, and working side by side with my friend made it a memory to cherish—a perfect send-off before my big move.
Touchdown in London: A New Chapter Begins
Arriving at London Heathrow was the start of an exciting new journey. The contrast between the bustling streets of Chennai and the cool, cosmopolitan air of London was striking. Yet, amidst all the change, I found a comforting continuity: a sense of home in the small things.
I soon found a place to rent—a cozy home with a garden. This green space quickly became my sanctuary, offering a peaceful retreat from the city's pace. Each morning, I step outside to the sight of birds—pigeons and more—wandering the patio and pecking at the ground. Their gentle presence and the lush surroundings create a scene of quiet beauty, reminding me that nature’s wonders are universal, whether in India or England.
