This Niomon Gate is a nationally designated important cultural property.
It is said that the world changes when you pass through the gate.
★It takes about 15 minutes to walk from the Niomon Gate to the main hall.
The rows of cedar trees and green maples are wonderful, and the autumn leaves are a spectacular sight.
★In the summer at Hotasan, wind chimes are displayed all over the corridors and the Tsubasa Hall
and the pleasant sounds are soothing.
In the main hall, "wishing wind chimes" are displayed, where you can write your wishes on wooden strips of paper.
★The inside of the east wing to the right of the main hall is surrounded by a blackout curtain, and is lit up with transparent wind chimes.
★When you face the main hall, the right side of the hall is the Shosondo (House of Deities), and there are many colorful wind chimes hanging like beads.

★In addition to the wind chimes, the hydrangea spot is also popular.
There are about 3,000 hydrangeas planted in the temple grounds, and they are in full bloom in early June.
At Hydrangea Square, where blue hydrangeas bloom, umbrellas are lined up in a row, making it a photogenic spot that often appears on social media.
There are also umbrellas with hydrangeas painted on them in the foreground, so you can take some great shots with them.
★Kanzeon's specialty rice dumplings were given the name "Kushi-dango" by the Shogun family as a souvenir for those climbing the castle, and since then they have been loved by general visitors for over 150 years and are well-known as the specialty of Hotaisan, "evil-warding rice dumplings."
The ticket machine sold two skewers of rice dumplings for 200 yen.
The bite-sized skewers were smothered in a generous amount of lightly sweet bean paste, and were delicious.
