Harder Kulm is 1,322 m above sea level and is known as the Top of Interlaken. This is one of the easiest and fastest viewpoints in Switzerland to climb up to. The most convenient way to get up there is to take the cable car. When you reach the top, you will see the beautiful view of the lakes Brienz and Thun, as well as the Jungfrau and Eiger peaks in front of you. There is also a restaurant up there. This was taken at the top of the Harder Klum! We went up in the late afternoon via the vertical train up! It take roughly about 20mins to travel all the way up! Be sure to take the bottom row seats to ensure a Birds Eye view while it’s moving up! It was breathtaking to see the 2 lakes and interlaken in between! Definitely recommend if you haven’t visit! Harderklum Observatory is close to Interlaken Ost Station in Switzerland and is easy to visit as it doesn't take long. You can buy a ticket at the lower entrance and take the funicular to the observatory. The view from the funicular going up and down the steep slope is beautiful, and the view of Interlaken from the observatory is also beautiful. Although the Harder Kulm viewing platform is only 1,322 meters high, it is located right opposite the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau peaks, so you can enjoy the three beautiful mountains, the city of Interlaken, and two alpine lakes: Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. You can reach this commanding height by taking the cable car from the Harderbahn station near the Interlaken OST station. It only takes eight minutes to easily climb the mountain and enjoy the beautiful view of the two lakes of Interlaken from above. The mountain cable car is the classic bright red color of Swiss trains, with a very steep slope. Because there are so many people on the ride, you have to be lucky to have a chance to squeeze into a large glass panoramic seat that allows you to look down the mountain.

Harder Kulm is $44 round trip for adults and if you have a Swiss Travel Pass you can visit for $22 with a 50% discount. The funicular to the summit runs every 30 minutes. You must check the timetable as it is available at the SBB Station. If you visit on the weekend, there will be a long wait!

June 26th, today we plan to go to the Harder Kulm Panorama Platform. From Interlaken East Station, cross the river to reach the Harder Kulm funicular station. The Harder Kulm platform is at an altitude of 1322 meters. On the funicular, we encountered a disabled person in a wheelchair. The staff prepared a flat platform for him to get on and off the train, and there was a designated spot for wheelchairs in the carriage 🚇. The staff laid out the flat platform for him when he got off. This is something we see often, but every time it warms my heart. From the platform, you can see the entire view of the two lakes and Interlaken.
