Nemuro, Hokkaido, is located at the easternmost point of Japan.
At Hanasaki Port, located at the base of the Nemuro Peninsula, there is a huge stone called "Nemuro Kurumaishi" that is engraved with the history of the earth.
This stone was created when magma erupted from the earth was rapidly cooled, and is called "Kurumaishi" because it has a radial joint that looks like a wheel, which is unique in the world.
It has been designated as a national natural monument due to its rarity and strangeness.
The Hanasaki Lighthouse stands on the Kurumaishi lying on the cliff, and it is very photogenic.
