The salt mines in Hallstatt have a very long history. They were originally on the seabed tens of thousands of years ago, but were uplifted into mountains by the compression of the plates, and these thousand-year-old crystallized salt mines are treasured in this mountain 511 meters above sea level. The tour experience here is held every half an hour. If you buy your ticket on the spot, you shouldn't have to wait too long. After the ticket is checked, you need to change into a miner's uniform and queue up with the staff to receive it, and then return it after the tour. There are two wooden slides in the salt mine. In the past, they were tools for miners to move to the lower level. Now they are the highlight of the tour that excites tourists. With a length of 64 meters, it is also the longest wooden slide in Europe. The tour guide will ask everyone to line up one by one. There is also a traffic light sign above, which is super cute. It takes about an hour and a half to drive from Salzburg. The navigation can directly reach the entrance of the town. However, there is a unified parking lot at the entrance of the town, and cars are not allowed inside.
