One of the most beautiful town in Europe 🌍
#familytrips2024
Hallstatt is definitely one of the most beautiful town in Europe. This time I went to Austria Hallstatt with my family and the view was absolutely incredible and insane. The small village in front of the mountain just made the view become more peaceful and stunning. Moreover, the lake also reflected some of the village views on the water. They all looked gorgeous.
Another great place to look at the whole Hallstatt lake is on the observation point, you can take the cable car to the top and see the whole view.
Highly recommend you come with your family!

A day in Hallstatt during winter
We have early train to catch from Salzburg to Hallstatt. We have booked our ticket from Salzburg Hbf to Hallstatt Bahnhst from OEBB site in advanced, and it is very simple. Cheaper option is to take bus, however, we have heavy luggage and hence pick on the train option.
along this 2 hour journey, you got to see a great views too. After arrival at the train station, we hop on the ferry (buy the ticket as well as the return ticket here) to the other side of the lake. the view of the lake is wonderful in the breezy winter time
#celebratewithtrip
About 10 mins walk from the ferry pier, we came to the luggage storage near the town centre, then we head ( walking uphill :)) to the Salt Mine (Salzwelten Hallstatt). We bought the ticket at the entrance and make sure you use the toilet before getting change. There's a locker for you to keep your own belongings. Mobile phones are allowed to take in to the salt mine tour. It was a awesome 1.5 hours tour in the salt mine, learn some history and how salt mine was formed. We got a little souvenir after the tour.
We had our lunch at the nearby restaurant just outside the salt mine, i would recommend other options (only 4 tables in this restaurant indoor, unless you want to sit outside enjoy the cold!!!) we then walked towards the town centre and where we visited Evangelische Pfarrkirche Hallstatt Church, Christmas market is in the town centre, and Postcard viewpoint of Hallstatt. This is a very small town and you can walk slowly and enjoy the view. The ferry schedule is fixed and if you want to catch a good spot on the ferry back to the train station, you will have to queue before the ferry arrived at the dock. Hallstatt in winter is marvellous!#

Day trip to Hallstatt from Salzburg 🚂
How to get there:
- take bus 150 from Salzburg HBF to Bad Ischl (approx 1 hours 30 mins)
- take train from Bad Ischl to Hallstatt (approx 30 mins)
- take ferry from Hallstatt train station to Hallstatt (€7 per person for round trip)
I would highly recommend sitting on the left side on the bus journey and sitting on the right side for the train journey for the views!!
What to eat in Hallstatt?
- There aren’t that many restaurants and cafes in Hallstatt and most of them aren’t that highly rated. I therefore would recommend you trying out the restaurant located @ Seehotel Grüner Baum. Go early ~11:30 and request for a seat by the lake 😍; lovely view and amazing food!!
What to do in Hallstatt?
- We wanted to visit the salt mine at Hallstatt but sadly the tickets just sold out as we were in the queue (do arrive and queue earlier if you want to pay a visit)
- Nonetheless, we took the cable car up and went to the skywalk. AGAIN, the view is amazing, Hallstatt is definitely one of my favourite small towns now

Salzwelten Hallstatt
#2023travelwish
Hallstatt is now one of my most favourite places that I have visited. It was really magical to visit this place during winter. We rented a car to go from Salzburg to Hallstatt and headed straight to Salzwelten Hallstatt & Skywalk. It was really interesting to see how salt was made during the tour of Salzwelten. We also had great fun during the tour as we get to do some slides down. After the tour, we went to the nearby Skywalk to enjoy the magnificent view of the snowy mountains overlooking the lake and town. The view was so beautiful that we missed our last funicular ride down to the base of the mountains. It would have been dangerous to walk down the mountains as it was getting dark and the path was quite dangerous due to the snow. Fortunately, my colleague was alert to call the police who in turned had to activate the Salzwelten staff to come back to activate the funicular. Really appreciate and sorry for the efforts the police and staff done to help us. It was truly a memorable experience.

One of the most beautiful place on earth
Hallstatt, one of the most beautiful places in Austria, is growing in popularity for its fairy-tale-like village, dramatic landscapes, and numerous attractions.
The quaint village, situated on Lake Hallstatt’s western shore in the mountainous region of Salzkammergut, is home to fewer than 1,000 inhabitants, an ancient salt mine, and unparalleled views of the Austrian Alps. Hallstatt invites visitors to get lost in its colorful streets, offering seclusion and serenity that you won’t find in overcrowded hot spots in Europe.
Getting here: Bus 150 and Bus 542. Each trip takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes

There's no doubt #Hallstatt is stunningly beautiful - from every angle.I'm just glad I managed to squeeze a trip in now, because I've never had the desire to go due to it being the epicentre of crowds. I'd love nothing more as a travel expert, than to re-wire the tourism of Hallstatt. While pristine and wonderful in nature, the town feels like a museum piece and caricature of Austrian culture, when Austria is so much more

A variety of tourists along the street come and go as weaving, occasional accompaniment of the vagrant singer sings the wind, using the old strings to sing a glimpse of the old times of the ancient times; and the twists and turns of the tune, full of full Everlasting bright spring, willow moss, green tile red brick, everything is like a dreamlike look~

Magical Town, Hallstatt ✨
Hello Dearies! ✨
Presenting the beautiful fairytale lakeside town that inspired the famous Disney movie that we all know - Frozen ☃️
The plan was actually to visit Hallstatt and Salzburg together and its accesible by direct regional train from Munich via 3 hours of trainride. But I get more creative and decided to explore Obertraun and Dachstein while I’m in the region since we had extra days for the holiday.
From Salzburg, its a 2 hour bus ride to get to Hallstatt and you will descend near the lake with an amazing view of colourful house. Its a small town and will take around 2-3 hours of exploring but if you are adventurous you can try to hike to the waterfall shown in the video for further adrenaline rush!
If you want to spend more tranquil vibe near the lake, you can try booking a one night stay at the Hallstatt area but be sure to book well in advance or else everything will be super expensive. So here is the summary of how to get to Hallstatt via Salzburg:
Munich - Salzburg (via 🚂) for 3 hours
Salzburg - Hallstatt (via 🚌) for 2 hours
I’m super excited to post Hallstatt video series this week because of how magical the video turns out ✨ Please stay tuned as next video will tell you when is the best time to visit Hallstatt or so called low season where everything is much cheaper and less crowd! 🫶🏻

I love snow and the cold weather of winter. Thus, I was thrilled when I got to visit Hallstatt of Austria with my wife and friends. It was winter time and thus the weather was super cool. Naturally, there was also snow on the mountains making the scene a beautiful sight. We also got to enjoy a tour at the salt mine over there where we got to learn about the salt making process.

A postcard sent from heaven
Before going to Hallstatt, I heard about its beauty. Everyone says that it's fortunate to go there, as if receiving a postcard sent from heaven. Surrounded by mountains, beautiful lakes and mountains, Baroque spire churches, like the old wooden houses in fairy tales... Any angle is indescribably beautiful. We only went for one day, but for a long time afterwards, we kept reminiscing, with lingering thoughts and dreams.
🚗🚗
How to get there?
We set off from Salzburg, Austria, and rented a car locally. It takes about an hour and a half to drive from Salzburg. The navigation can directly reach the entrance of the town. However, there is a unified parking lot at the entrance of the town, and cars are not allowed inside. It takes about twenty minutes to walk back and forth.
📷📷
Highlights:
I personally recommend the viewing platform, which is absolutely perfect for taking photos! There are also the old church and the Hallstatt salt mine, and of course the market square. We saw some performances, which were very lively. But overall, the town is not big, strolling along the main street, looking at the style of the old town, is also very interesting.
☺️☺️
Tips:
I don't really recommend staying in the town, it's expensive, and I think a day's visit is enough.
If you have enough time, you can visit St. Wolfgang nearby, which is very beautiful.

Chasing a snow in the north | If you love her, take her to Hallstatt
Some people say, 'If a person loves you, take her to Hallstatt; if a person hates you, take him to Hallstatt, he will fall in love with you because of this!' There is always a place that will make you want to escape from the city, and Hallstatt is such a place.
-
From CK town to Hallstatt, Fish Mom and I chose the shuttle bus🚌. The fare is about 35 euros and it takes about 3 hours. Because it is a carpool, you need to make a reservation by email in advance. The car we shared was with 5 Korean girls, the car windows were tightly closed, and I almost got carsick sitting in the middle!
-
Choosing to come to Europe in winter is really specific... We should go skiing. The thick snow covers the entire village. It's quiet. Fish Mom, who has never seen such heavy snow, was excited all the way, but she said she didn't want to see the snow anymore when it snowed every day...
We came here on the weekend, all the shops here are closed, can the happiness index of Europeans not be high!
-
The town is not big, the scenery is incredibly beautiful as you stroll through it. Walk through the charming streets, why not walk up to the church on the hillside, this is the best view of the town! There are a lot of Koreans coming to the Czech Republic and Austria, especially the most Koreans taking pictures here. I found out later that there is a Korean drama, it seems to be called 'Spring Waltz'.
-
Hallstatt is an ancient town in Austria, in the eastern part of the Alps, the beautiful Hallstatt Lake, the iconic check-in photo. The town of Hallstatt produces salt, there is a salt mine experience center on the top of the mountain, the salt mine is not open in winter, but you can go up the mountain to see the panoramic view of the town, but I only knew it after I came back...
PS About accommodation🏘️: The lakeside accommodation in Hallstatt needs to be booked a few months in advance, and the price is really expensive, no matter what type of room it is generally starting from 1000, it really hurts, if you choose to come to Europe in winter, please bring your own kettle, for example, we were too cold, rented a kettle cost me 7 euros, it hurts! (If the town has no rooms, you can choose to stay in the nearby Upper Traun area, suitable for self-driving people)
PS: About transportation🚌 There are three parking lots for self-driving, the train is separated from the town by a lake, and you need to take a boat.
