Singapore City Walk Itinerary | Essential Tips for Photo Taking!
Singapore is really small, with all the worthy spots concentrated in one area. I've summarized a 2-day, 1-night city walk itinerary that's perfect for sightseeing and taking great photos!
Itinerary:
Haji Lane/Sultan Mosque—Praise Square—National Gallery Singapore—Clarke Quay—Old Hill Street Police Station—Merlion Park—Oxley—Gardens by the Bay
(This route is the most direct and you can choose the places you want to visit. The following spots are particularly photogenic)
Haji Lane/Sultan Mosque
Haji Lane is a street filled with food, perfect for eating and strolling around. The buildings are colorful and there are many graffiti walls, making it a great place for photos!
The Sultan Mosque is right next to Haji Lane, and taking photos through the door frame looks amazing!
Old Hill Street Police Station
This is the Singapore News and Arts Building, with dopamine-inducing colors. Standing across the street and taking photos is the best spot!
Merlion Park
A landmark of Singapore, where you can take creative photos as if you're catching the water from the Merlion's mouth.
Gardens by the Bay
It's like entering the planet of Pandora, with a light show at night. The shows start at 19:45 and 20:45 every night, lasting 15 minutes each.
Opening hours: Outdoor gardens 5:00-next day 2:00, other areas 9:00-21:00
💰: Admission is free, but tickets for the Flower Dome/Cloud Forest/Fantasy Garden/Supertree Observatory need to be purchased separately, around 125 RMB
Food Recommendations: Ya Kun Kaya Toast, Song Fa Bak Kut Teh, Hainanese Chicken Rice, Nasi Lemak
Accommodation: Swissotel The Stamford Singapore, conveniently located near attractions with great views!
Little tips:
1. No need to exchange too much Singaporean currency, as many places accept Alipay.
2. Do not spit or jaywalk in Singapore, as fines are enforced!
3. No worries about language barriers, there are many Chinese speakers who can speak Mandarin!
Hi, I am 567, I have traveled through 15 countries and 130 cities. Singapore is the 14th country I visited, and the travel experience was really great! It's also very safe, and now with visa-free access, you can travel with ease!

A vibrant & colourful street in Singapore!

The Haji Lane is undoubtedly a vibrant & colourful street in the heart of Singapore, just a short walk from Bugis MRT Station. It's one of the streets that I enjoyed the most during my short visit to Singapore.
Famous for its street art, Haji Lane is a true discovery for the curious traveller. This unique
place is a home to eclectic bars, eateries and
cafes, independent boutiques where you can find young Asian designers who hand-made jewellery and stylish home accessories. The beautiful
murals on every corner just made it an insta-
worthy spot!

Singapore Citywalk's Little India, Haji Lane
Singapore Citywalk's Little India, Haji Lane
Little India is a gathering place for the Indian community in Singapore, a miniature of India, hence the name Little India. Especially during some festivals, the Indian style is even more intense, here is like a golden fairy tale world. Colorful lights and decorations can be seen everywhere on the street.
The most famous shopping center in Little India is none other than the Mustafa Center, which is known throughout the island for its 24-hour all-day operation, good quality and low price, and a wide variety of goods.
Veera Makali Amman Hindu Temple: The Hindu gods, sacred cows, and warriors carved on the gate tower shine under the sun, attracting attention. The walls around the temple are painted in red and white, full of festive atmosphere.
Haji Lane is a quiet alley in Kampong Glam, Singapore, with many characteristic small shops worth visiting. The once empty street with pre-war houses on both sides has been revitalized by the influx of local designers and young entrepreneurs. There are many unique fashion stores here, specializing in selling a variety of fashionable accessories and items with Singaporean local flavor.
Transportation: Accessible by bus and subway.

#singapore Haji Lane is in the Kampong Glam neighbourhood of Singapore, a short walk from Bugis MRT. Ask any millennial and they’ll tell you fond stories about nights out at its lively bars or about how they found a cool vintage store they thrifted their favourite ‘fits from.
I visited Haji Lane a while back and it’s a true embodiment of Singapore’s multicultural society. If any of my foreigner friends visit Singapore, Haji Lane will be on my recommendation list.
For cat lovers, you may even find a cat cafe there! Spend a lovely afternoon thrifting, eating your heart out and cuddling with cats. How many letters in Haji Lane? ATE!#slay

The Cutest Alley in Singapore
Haji lane is a name of a small alley in Bugis Area, Singapore. You can find a lot of shops and cafes along the way with colorful building and cute design. Some of the cafes are start open on 7 p.m onwards. But if you want to take some shots, you gotta be there before 3 p.m as some cafes are open on 5 p.m onwards and it's getting crowded. Since it's located in the middle of Muslim residences, no wonder that the biggest mosque in Singapore which located in the next street, Masjid Jamek, is never empty. You can also easily find halal food around and hotels so easily. The atmosphere is getting bussier at night. Since there's a lot of insta-worthy spots, make sure you bring your own camera if you pay a visit to Haji Lane.

Art Kid @ Haji Lane
Haji Lane is known for its shops, attracting many tourists and youngsters as a cool place to hang out. Whilst there you can fix up your wardrobe or grab a little something different to take home from your travels. Our favourite place to grab a Singapore souvenir was a shop called Eighty Two Tales. We fell in love to this place and we will always go back if time gives us a chance again.

Singapore snapshot in Haji lane
One of my favourite pastimes is strolling around and getting lost. In Singapore, I found myself at the famous Haji lane, a district that dates back two centuries. In a diverse society like Singapore, it is great to see these historical elements preserved to this day.
Haji lane is full of businesses that sell souvenirs, pizza, tea and coffee. Nearby are also many other Arab landmarks.

been to Singapore recently and I visited this new bakery located at Haji Lane. the bakery is very nice and well decorated. they offer you with a lot of pastries. i really love the croissant as it tasted very good. the bakery is not that huge so in order for you to enter and purchase you need to wait. i think if I’m not mistaken they only allow 4-5 customers at a time. so you have to wait outside before you can enter. worry not they have a roof underneath the waiting area so you don’t have to wait under the hot sun. while waiting you can also have a peak on what to order. the staff us very friendly and helpful. kindly ask them about their pastries and they will be happy to tell you. by far payment method is only by cash and there is no dine in area in the bakery. overall I really love this bakery and would definitely come again here.#singaporetrip #bakery #croissant #foodie #hajilane

Why should we come here?
It is one of the places where young people come to the most, and you can go to colorful cafes or bars with many different themes. You can also shop in the evening, as all places are open until late at night.
If you like to travel during the day, you can come here again. There are many places where you can have your breakfast.

Crisp Waffles at Sooner or Later Cafe
Check out Sooner or Later, the newest cafe that opened only last week along Haji Lane, joining the family of hipster cafes in the area. They open from 11am to 11pm on Tuesdays-Thursdays, and until midnight on Fridays-Sundays! The cafe’s interior is a little small, but they also have an outdoor seating area should you wish to dine in.
I recommend getting their Waffles ($6), which are above average and have a nicely crisp exterior and fluffy interior 🧇 Eat it while it’s warm and it pairs well with a Double Scoop ($9) of cold ice cream! They have quite a few flavours here, and we tried the Hojicha and Butterscotch, both of which were fragrant and leaned towards the sweeter side, but not cloyingly so.
I also tried their Earl Grey Cake ($8), which comes with a decent earl grey fragrance. While the cake is soft, it might be a little dry so thankfully the cream on top helped to balance it out.

The Halal Corner 🇸🇬
The Halal Corner is located at 63 Haji Lane.
The popular western fusion stall have 2 existing outlet in Bedok and Yishun.
The food stall has made headlines for its creative spins on local street food like the best-selling Carbonara Beef Steak Roti John and Mac n Cheese Shihlin Chicken. Their Samyang Cheesy Chicken Pasta is also quite possibly the best crossover since K-pop.
Food was great, love the balado fries. Price is quite pricey BUT at the portion they serve, it’s consider quite reasonable.
Staff are friendly and approachable.
Location near Sultan Mosque and Bugis Junction (10mins walk).
Negative part, level one are quite stuffy as the aircon are pretty not strong at some part of the stall, recommended to go up to level 2. Payment mode either cash or paynow (network reception is pretty weak in that stall, we had trouble connecting to our ibanking, recommended to bring cash instead).
Overall we had a great lunch! Highly recommend.

Unique Botique Shops In Haji Lane
Bugis is a popular place in Singapore among many youngsters. Tourists flock to tourists for cheap buys of clothes and the many different delicacies one can find.
Just a stone throw away is Haji Lane, where you see a different community. A community where generally Muslims will go to, with the many friendly faces selling carpets, gorgeous kemban and sarong for women and baju malayu for men. There are also traditional authentic Muslim food around the corners of Haji Lane, like zam zam, victory restaurant or even Turkish or Lebanese food.
If that doesn't suit you, there are a whole row of shops also selling really good pizza, to cute shops like gummy bears, to collector items and even to arts and crafts.
You won't find anywhere else like Haji Lane in Singapore because it has this unique concept that the community have brought out. Come here in the day and the night to experience the different vibes this place has.

Hippy chilling area at Haji Lane
Haji Lane is located in the Kampong Glam neighbourhood of Singapore. Nearest MRT will be the bugis MRT. The shophouses here are all built in the during the 1800s. Apparently, it is the narrowest Street in Singapore!
The street comes to life during the evening hours, with many office workers gathering here for after work chilling. If you are one always on the look out for instagrammable places, I suggest you visit during the late afternoon as there are plenty of wall printing and unique area to use as a background for your photo.
There are many choices of food and drinks here and I'm sure you can find one suitable to your taste after a session of photo taking here.
