New Year's Day Hiking in Blue Ice Lake Since the last time I went to Le Domain, I didn’t see the blue ice because of the snow, which left me with a regret. I happened to have some time on New Year’s Day, and didn’t want to drink during the New Year’s Eve, so I signed up for a tour group to the Blue Ice Lake of Zheduo Mountain. We set out at 7 pm on the first day and arrived in Kangding at 10:30 pm. We slept for a few hours in the hotel and then set out for the Zheduo Mountain Observation Deck at 6 pm. We arrived at the observation deck before 7 pm. Start hiking from the viewing platform. This section to the first lake is about three kilometers long. It is a dirt road with a gentle slope. SUVs can drive directly there, and local people's cars can also carry people. The one-way fare is 30 per person. The journey is generally simple except for having to cross a few piles of rocks. It is said that we are going to see the Blue Ice Lake, but in fact, there are a group of lakes along the way. The first lake we arrived at is two small lakes next to each other, and the Blue Ice Lake is the third one. The ice is the thickest and strongest, and there are also many people. After crossing the pass behind the Blue Ice Lake, there is another lake behind it, about one kilometer away. The scenery is nice and there are not many people. The only problem is that there is still an unfrozen part in the middle, so you can't go out and play on the lake as easily as you can on the Blue Ice Lake. Generally speaking, it is not difficult, and the scenery is acceptable but not amazing. It is suitable for friends who want to go to see the blue ice. In addition, a novice teammate in the group got lost while descending on his own at nine in the morning. I just thought I could get back to the starting point by walking down the mountain, but I ended up walking further away. Compared with Changpinggou and Shuangqiaogou, Haizigou in Siguniang Mountain has fewer people. It is suitable for people who like to hike. The plank road from the mouth of the gully to Zhaijieping (viewing platform) at an altitude of 3,400 meters is still very strenuous. Going further in, you will find Guozhuangping, Huahaizi and other scenic spots, which require a certain amount of endurance. We walked to Guozhuangping. In the morning sunshine, the sky was blue and the clouds were white. The scenery was beautiful. We took all kinds of photos and every photo looked great.

Mount Siguniang, nestled in the embrace of Rilong Town, Xiaojin County, Aba Prefecture, is composed of four peaks that are stacked and overlapping. These four peaks are covered with ice and snow all year round, resembling four beautiful girls with white veils on their heads. They stand shoulder to shoulder above the Changping Gully and Haizi Gully, two streams that look like the Milky Way, hence the name Mount Siguniang. At the Cat's Nose Ridge, which is only a 20-minute drive from Rilong Town, visitors can enjoy the magnificent view of the four connected peaks of Mount Siguniang. This place is definitely a paradise for photography enthusiasts. The Mount Siguniang scenic area consists of four towering snow peaks and three winding valleys: Shuangqiao Gully, Changping Gully, and Haizi Gully, each of which has a separate admission ticket. To fully experience it, you need at least three days, spending one day in each valley. Of course, if time is limited, Changping Gully and Haizi Gully would be the better choices, as the true face of Mount Siguniang cannot be seen from within Shuangqiao Gully. For those who love outdoor adventures, choosing to hike through and camp in the valley would be an excellent choice, but be sure to comply with the scenic area's regulations for outdoor activities.

🚌Transportation: Self-driving/bus station by car, the journey takes about 3 hours. I wanted to go to Haizi Gully for a walk a few years ago, and I didn't go until recently. I always thought that Haizi Gully would be harder to walk. After going there this time, I felt okay. For me, the initial part of the road was harder to walk, and the rest was quite flat. It was very comfortable to walk without wind in the morning, and there was a lot of wind and sand in the afternoon when I returned. I walked close to the first 'Haizi' and then returned. I walked 32km back and forth, taking photos along the way for 8 hours. Overall, I think it's easier than Changping Gully. Looking at the mountains and trees is very good. I personally think it's more suitable to go in summer. This season is a bit desolate, but fortunately, there are fewer people hiking in this season, and I only met some people returning from climbing along the way, very quiet.

Haizigou is the entrance to climb the Big Peak and the Second Peak. Today is Tuesday, and there are still a lot of people going up the mountain!! (Are you all off from work to come and see the mountain!! Tickets for the scenic area: 60-per person (nothing, you have to walk on the plank road to get to the entrance of the scenic area). There is a sign prohibiting fire in the scenic area, but the guide took out a cigarette and started smoking. The higher you go, the more cigarette butts you see. I hope the relevant departments will take care of it. When walking on the road, everyone will happily discuss: Are you going to Dafeng or Erfeng? What kind of job do you do?
