Historic buildings
Thean Hou Temple was founded before 1866. In the early years, the materials for the construction of the hall were all shipped from China to Penang. Today, this building was rebuilt in 1895. In addition to the Virgin Mary, the Queen of Water and the 108 Brothers are also placed in the palace. Every year on the 15th day of the tenth day of the lunar calendar, which is also the establishment day of the guild hall, there are celebration activities in Thean Hou Temple. Penang Hainan Guild Hall is located at Nan Hua Yuan Street (formerly known as New Hainan Company Street), Penang. According to historical data, Hainanese came south by boat from Hainan Island before 1866 and settled in Penang; opposite the Haiji Zhan on Yixing Street, they rented a house and set up a hall to worship the Mother of Heaven (called "Pozu" in Hainanese). In 1895, he bought the current site of the museum and built the museum.
