[2025 Jeju Restaurant] Travel Guide for Haejigae Cafe (Updated Mar)

I am surprised by how spacious this place is. Located away from things but the place enjoys. The menu somewhat expensive but in south Korea or even Jeju. Cafes are more about location andambience. We tried their tea and it tasted very good. People usually come with time and enjoy the ambience for hours and hours. I would recommend visiting this place. #newyearvibes #travel #thingstodo

Yesterday, I visited the popular BOMNAL café. It's a great spot for photos, but it was quite crowded. The coffee and desserts were average, but the views of the scenery and sunset, along with the nearby jellyfish sea glass boat, were enjoyable. I preferred the nearby Haejigae café. After a leisurely morning, it's just a two to three-minute walk to the café, which offers an excellent sea view. It's located next to the barbecue restaurant I visited yesterday. You can easily spend an entire afternoon here! The café has a spacious indoor and outdoor area, and the sea view from the second floor is fantastic. Most of the patrons were speaking Korean, and there were no Chinese tourists. The style is traditional Korean, and the pastries are traditional small breads, beautifully crafted. I took a five-day vacation with my family to Jeju Island! It's visa-free, but it takes over an hour to get through immigration (yes, it's full of Chinese tourists, all standing in line for over an hour to enter, and there's no air conditioning). Perhaps due to the large number of Chinese tourists, the locals are not very friendly towards them. If they want to build a tourist city, the government should manage it better! We hired a car for the day (the driver was nice, a typical introvert, who took us on a one-day tour of the west line), so it wasn't tiring. We visited four spots, all of which were photogenic! This cafe is highly recommended (it's hard to find), the driver took us there. It's in a hidden spot in Aewol-eup, and you need to enter the Korean address to navigate there. They sell delicious bread, and it's mostly locals. It's the kind of place where you can sit with a cup of coffee all afternoon. The beach outside the cafe is perfect for photos, you can take great shots effortlessly! I ordered a black sesame latte (I think that's what it's called), and it tasted pretty good. After leaving the cafe, we took sunset photos, which was very chill! After coffee, you can walk along the seaside and take lots of photos. I used Kakao Map for navigation; I downloaded Naver but couldn't use it well, Google Maps didn't show the address, but Baidu Maps can navigate simply, so I recommend it. #koreatrip Beautiful place for sure. Every corner provides a view for you to enjoy your dessert/pastries with. Pastries aren’t cheap but they have quite a range of varieties. Service is primarily done by yourself up until the point of payment and/or ordering your drink. The lady doesn't speak English but that is fine since it speaks for itself! We had no issues with the service like in the last reviews. We got served nicely by the lady at the counter. Pastries in general are too sweet, yet if that is your thing then this place is right up your alley. Aesthetically speaking this establishment is absolutely stunning!
