On the night of the Lantern Festival on the 15th day of the first lunar month, I watched the Guangxi intangible cultural heritage - dragon blasting - here with my own eyes. Shocked by the sound of firecrackers all over the city, this guide, which I got at the cost of my hair and clothes being burned by sparks, is here~ Every year from the 10th to the 15th day of the first lunar month (see official notice for details), the Fuchuan Yao Autonomous County of Hezhou, Guangxi, will hold the Lantern and Dragon Festival. The Yao people celebrate the festival by appreciating lanterns and blasting dragons, and pray for good luck, peace and prosperity in the new year. The dragon team from each street has to pay homage to each shrine and perform the ritual of "three bows and three circles" known as "Cai Qing". After visiting all nine shrines, they gather in the center of the county town. The crowd, who had been waiting for the "dragon explosion" for a long time, lit the firecrackers in their hands and threw them at the dragon. The firecrackers exploded all over the dragon and the dragon danced in the firecrackers. Fire is everywhere, this is Fuchuan’s most distinctive way to celebrate the New Year! There is a local saying that the more dragon dancers there are, the more powerful the street is. | Weekend Getaway with Friends I spent a weekend with my friends in the ancient villages of Guangxi. It was like stepping into a peaceful pastoral painting.🌳 🚗Transportation: We took a high-speed train to Zhongshan West and then took a taxi to Xiushui Zhuangyuan Village in Fuchuan. The journey took about an hour and the price was reasonable. The scenery along the way was beautiful, with blue skies and white clouds, which made us feel relaxed.😜 I heard that there will be a shuttle bus🚌 next year. 📍 Xiushui Zhuangyuan Village Scenic Area, Fuchuan, Guangxi 🍜Food: We had local oil tea for breakfast. The taste was a bit special. You may not be used to it at first, but you will love it after a few more sips. They were built in the 34th year of the Jiajing period of the Ming dynasty (1555), with a total area of about 7,700 square meters and a building area of about 660.7 square meters. The pagoda is a hollow seven-story brick pagoda with a regular hexagonal shape, 28 meters high, and a base 4.8 meters deep. Ciyun Temple consists of a front hall, a middle hall, a back hall, and wing rooms. It was originally a small temple, but in the 16th year of the Kangxi period of the Qing dynasty (1677), it was expanded into a Guanyin temple. In the 11th year of the Qianlong period (1746), the temple was completely renovated.
