Unforgettable nights in Liancheng
Driving to Liancheng on the old state highway was a pleasant surprise. The countryside was absolutely picturesque, with hills, rice fields and charming little villages that made the journey fly by. Once we arrived, Guanzhai Mountain was our first stop. The views were stunning and the hike was both refreshing and peaceful.
But the real magic happened at night in Liancheng Square. We were completely blown away by the molten iron show and the incredible water and light displays. The historic buildings lit up beautifully, creating an enchanting atmosphere that felt straight out of a movie. And the best part? It was all for free! Liancheng is a hidden gem that left us truly amazed.

Guanzhishan Stone Gate Lake, located in Liancheng County, Longyan City, Fujian Province

Guanzhai Mountain - A Natural Form of Beauty
Guanzhai Mountain is located 1 kilometer east of the Liancheng County town in Fujian Province. It is named for its main peak, which resembles the ancient mythical creature Xiezhi's crown, and was formerly known as 'Dongtian Mountain' and 'Lianfeng Mountain'.
The scenic area covers 123 square kilometers, combining mountains, water, rocks, caves, springs, temples, and gardens into a singularly beautiful landscape, acclaimed as: 'The peerless Danxia landform both in the north and the south.'
Guanzhai Mountain is part of the Danxia landform, and its natural beauty lies in the mountain's precipitous and serene features, and the water's clarity and sweetness. Among its most precious treasures are the horizontal plaque 'Jiangzuo Fengliu' handwritten by Lin Zexu when he visited Guanzhai Mountain, which is now preserved in the Dongshan Thatched Cottage; and the authentic 'Chasing Steps to Dongshan' inscribed by the famous scholar Ji Xiaolan during the Qianlong period when he served as the supervisor of the Fujian Academy.
Guanzhai Mountain is a national AAAA-rated scenic spot, known as the 'Sacred Mountain of the Hakka people'. From a distance, Guanzhai doesn't appear tall, but as you ascend the winding mountain road, pass through 'Cangyu Gorge', and arrive at 'Banyun Pavilion', you naturally feel as if you are 'a thousand feet above the cloud-covered ridge'. The Danxia cloud ladder is closely connected to Banyun Pavilion, with a path carved out of the cliff face, vertical like a ladder, with a cliff on the right, its rocks a reddish hue, and on the left, a deep valley.
Walking between the cloud ladders is like walking atop the treetops of ancient and lush trees, or above the clouds in mid-air.
Guanzhai Mountain is divided into Line A and Line B -
Line A ticket includes Shimen Lake (including boat ride) + Guanzhai Mountain ticket, cable car (about 10min) + Zhuanzai Village scenic area + scenic shuttle bus (adult ticket).
