Getting There - 1hr by train from Zhangye Attractions - Jiayuguan Pass Jiayuguan Pass used to be the starting point of the ancient Great Wall built during Ming Dynasty (1368 – 1644). We spent in Jiayuguan just couple of hours on the way from Zhangye to Dunhuang. We had about 5 hours transit between our trains so we jumped on the Didi and went directly to the Jiayuguan Pass. The ticket costs 80yuan and it allows you to visit both the Pass and the part of the Great Wall. In fact the distance from there to the Great Wall is about 15km, so you can easily visit both attractions in one day. It was very windy and overcast when we arrived, but the scenery was just incredible.
