Beautiful park in Kunming, Yunnan. Loved the ducks and wildlife here. The green colour comes from the algae and the greenery of the lotus leaves. When they are in full bloom they are breathtakingly beautiful. It's a reasonably sized park, nice to walk around and get some fresh air. It's not that new so has a more authentic vibe than some of China's overly manicured parks. You'll see lots of locals strolling and enjoying themselves. Green lake or Cui Hu park is a beautiful urban park in the center of downtown Kunming. It is a park of several large lakes, which have different classical chinese water plants on them, such as lily pads, lotus plants, bamboo and trees. This park was about 10 minutes walk from our hotel and is right next to Yunnan university. It was free to enter and a really nice place to walk around, there are many souvenir, food and drink shops around the park, and different areas to explore with some small pagodas and temples. There is also a small museum about tap water within the park which was sadly closed. My favourite part of the park was the bamboo forest, with several types of bamboo which stretched up into the sky and hung down over the path making it shady even in the middle of the day it was an incredible effect to walk through.
