The sunshine on Green Island is warm. I took a boat from Taitung to this little paradise on the sea. On the first day, I rented a motorcycle and rode along the ring road around the island. The sea breeze was super comfortable. I went directly to Chaori Hot Spring, soaked in the hot spring and watched the sunset. The orange-red sky was as beautiful as a painting. The next morning, I went to Chaikou for snorkeling. I was amazed by the corals and tropical fish on the seabed! I had seaweed ice cream for lunch, which was sweet and cool and very special. In the afternoon, I visited Sleeping Beauty Rock and Niutou Mountain. The scenery was amazing and I took a lot of photos. Take a night tour at night and see the starry sky and sika deer. It is very romantic. On the third day, we went to the Green Island Lighthouse. The white tower against the blue sky and the sea was really beautiful. We also bought some seaweed crisps as souvenirs. The three-day trip to Green Island relaxed me physically and mentally. The natural beauty of this island is so charming that I want to come again next time!

After arriving at Green Island, it is recommended to rent a scooter or bicycle to go to Zhaori Hot Spring.  ⸻ 📝 Personal experience Zhaori Hot Spring is located in the Sailboat Nose intertidal zone southeast of Green Island. It is one of only three underwater hot springs in the world and a rare saltwater hot spring. The spring water comes from seawater seeping into the ground and gushes out after being heated by geothermal energy. The temperature is about 60°C to 70°C. The spring water is a sulfate chloride spring. The water is clear and transparent, with the salty taste of seawater. It is not sticky after washing and is non-irritating to the skin.  The hot spring area has three circular open-air baths, a semi-outdoor hot spring pool, a large swimming pool, SPA facilities and an egg-boiling area, and can accommodate up to 300 tourists. The water temperature of the bath changes with the tide, creating a natural sauna experience.  It is especially recommended to go there in the early morning, to enjoy the sunrise slowly rising over the Pacific Ocean while soaking in the hot springs, and feel the wonderful start of the day; at night, you can look up at the starry sky, listen to the sound of the waves, and enjoy a peaceful hot spring bathing time. As the name suggests, Chaori Hot Spring is named because it faces east and is able to welcome the first ray of sunshine every day. During the Japanese colonial period in Taiwan, this place was called Asahi Hot Springs. One of the biggest features here is that it is one of the few underwater hot springs in the world. The spring water gushes out from the coral reefs in the intertidal zone. It comes from sea water or groundwater and is heated by the volcanic magma reservoir, forming a unique igneous hot spring. The spring water is clear and transparent, with a temperature ranging from about 60℃ to 70℃, and the temperature at the spout can even reach 90℃. The water quality of Chaori Hot Spring is similar to that of natural spring water, with a pH value of 7.8 and a chloride ion content of up to 25,000 ppm, making it a sulfate chloride spring.
