#Grand Lisboa Palace Macau Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Grand Lisboa Palace Macau: Extraordinary Style, Prime Location.
Grand Lisboa Palace Macau is situated in a prime location in Cotai, adjacent to the Macau East Asian Games Dome, and only a 10-minute drive from Macau International Airport and the main Cotai border. You can also take the resort's free shuttle bus to and from the Barrier Gate, Hengqin New Port, and the Macau Peninsula. Nestled within three exceptionally extraordinary hotel towers, you will experience comfort and elegance amidst a blend of classic and contemporary design. The overall style not only adopts modern Chinese decor but also incorporates architectural features of famous European landmarks. Renowned Macau artists have also created custom artworks for the hotel, showcasing the extraordinary style of the Grand Lisboa Palace Macau flagship hotel.

A Day Trip to Macau, Who is Macau Suitable For?
A family went on a trip to Zhuhai, mainly to take the kids to Chimelong in Zhuhai, and incidentally to take the elderly father to check in more cities. The strategy was made because Macau is very close, so they took a day to cross the border at Hengqin and completed the Macau city walk.
Who is Macau suitable for?
To put it simply: people who are willing to spend money.
Macau is not big, and just a city walk for checking in and taking photos can be completed in 1-2 days. Compared to Hong Kong, I think it is more orderly, lively but not chaotic, prosperous, but also well-planned.
If you are a budget traveler like me, then in Macau you can spend a whole day without spending a penny. The airport, ports, and Macau Tower have free shuttle buses from various major hotels, no credentials needed, just get on the bus. There is usually a bus every 15-20 minutes. Grand Lisboa, Wynn Macau (Wynn Palace), and MGM (Lion MGM) on the Macau Peninsula and Taipa offer free shuttle services, and then the major hotels are not far from each other, basically within walking distance, and close to the main attractions.
All entertainment venues offer free snacks and drinks, as long as you are of age, you can come and go freely, and fill your stomach without spending a penny.
Since you can play for a whole day without spending a penny, why do I still say Macau is suitable for people who are willing to spend money?
Firstly, Macau is very small, the Ruins of St. Paul's, the Monte Fort, museums, and wandering through the streets, a standard city walk can be completed in 2-3 hours.
Secondly, if you look at everyone's check-in photos, they are basically at the Ruins of St. Paul's, Grand Lisboa Hotel, and various major hotels. So, apart from the standard city walk, another theme of check-ins in Macau is the hotels. The hotels have free performances every hour, but these performances are really just for the sake of it, and not worth buying a plane ticket for a special trip. The cable car, the tower, and various hotel scenes are also very nice, but again not worth a special trip just for a check-in, though they are a good choice if you're passing by.
The free snacks and drinks are very considerate, and some taste quite good, but they are more suitable for sitting down for afternoon tea to enjoy the hotel scenery after a tiring walk. As for the main meals, relying on these freebies can be too much and too sweet.
If you come to Macau and don't go to casinos or buy luxury goods, and taking trendy photos for check-ins is not your main theme, then half the fun of Macau will be lost.
In summary, Macau is great, but whether it is suitable for a few days of play still depends on where your interests lie.

Macau's one-stop family resort makes traveling with kids a breeze
🇲🇴My fondness for Macau is evident from the multiple visits I've made over the past year.
Even my baby has been here several times.
Once again, I embarked on a global journey with my baby, and the first stop we chose was still here.
✨Since it's a family trip, we opted for the Macau Grand Lisboa Resort, a one-stop resort that's perfect for family vacations. Everything you need for dining, entertainment, and leisure is right here, making it easy to stroll around with the little ones!
🦆This year marks the 90th anniversary of Donald Duck, and the Grand Lisboa recently showcased classic Donald Duck figures in the Greenery Garden, hotel lobby, and the atrium of the 1F shopping center. You can take photos with the classic Donald Duck figures with your kids, reliving the Disney dream of the little whale.
🏙️Hotel features:
The Macau Grand Lisboa Resort has invited several Macau artists to create a series of artistic masterpieces specifically for the resort. The entire resort is like a huge art center, and for someone like me who studies art, I can't get enough wherever I go.
🛌The rooms are also in the modern Chinese style that I like, exuding a modern and chic atmosphere. Cleverly blending Chinese and Western artistic charm, the style is fashionable and elegant, with Macau-style artistic decorations mixed with natural solid wood, porcelain, lacquer, and brass to form a unique style, delicately integrating ancient and modern, Eastern and Western cultures.
🍽️Worthy of mention is the Grand Lisboa's buffet restaurant, inspired by an Asian food market, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets.
The dinner buffet is truly YYDS (an internet slang term meaning 'eternally godlike')~
For seafood lovers, the unlimited order-and-cook seafood🦞is so attractive!
🦞The seafood market offers freshly cooked seafood, including Boston lobster, abalone, clams, shrimp, crab, fish, etc., cooked on-site by chefs to ensure freshness. There are various cooking methods to suit the tastes of both adults and children.
🚘Apart from the facilities inside the Grand Lisboa Resort, there are many family-friendly facilities nearby, including free cable car rides and fountain shows. It's close to the airport, and there's a free shuttle bus, making transportation very convenient.
💰Average cost per person: 600-1000+
👀Hygiene: Excellent
👂Soundproofing: Very good

Free and no need to queue! The strategy for checking in at the new landmark of Macau
📷Photo Spot Strategy:
✅Greenery Garden
1️⃣First, go to the Roman corridor outside the self-service mountain to capture a sense of depth, using the fountain and castle as a background for a blockbuster shot~
2️⃣Head to the maze next to the dome, where you'll feel like a fairy accidentally wandering into the back garden.
3️⃣Go to the middle of the garden and walk up the stairs, shoot from above to capture the entire garden.
I've told you all the popular spots, just follow my lead for great photos~
I personally recommend shooting at night when the lights are on, it looks like a golden castle, very photogenic.
✅East Wing Hotel Lobby
Every corner is an art treasure, paired with marble floors, it's suggested to use a wide-angle for photography to capture a sense of fashion and grandeur!
✅Outdoor Swimming Pool
The Grand Lisboa has two swimming pools, besides the constant temperature indoor pool, it's recommended to try the European-style outdoor pool on a good weather day, for a full vacation vibe~
✅Palace of Versailles
Available only until mid-October, the palace is recreated using projection technology, with many fun and interesting interactive installations and VR experiences, making you feel like you're in the Palace of Versailles over 9000 kilometers away~
🍔Food Recommendations:
🔻Taste: A Portuguese restaurant with a sense of ceremony, the interior design is personally crafted by the owner, inspired by Chinese bird cages, and the starry sky canopy in the main dining area🌌 is also very romantic. Here you can taste modern Portuguese cuisine, and it's also recommended to try the Back Garden Cocktail🍸, not only great for checking in but also on my list of must-visit private collections.
🔻Imperial Garden:
The pairing also fully reflects the chef's delicate thoughts, and it's mainly Taishi cuisine, which is really uncommon~
📍Location:
Grand Lisboa Macau Integrated Resort
🚌Transportation:
There are free shuttle buses to the hotel from the Border Gate, Hengqin Port, Cotai Old City, and the airport.

Before you leave Macau, I suggest visiting these places that are free of charge!!
During my two-day and one-night stay in Macau,
I experienced the luxurious glitz and glamour here,
but also saw the ordinary hustle and bustle of life.
Today, I want to recommend a few free photo spots for everyone.
Make sure to take note~
🔶【Ruins of St. Paul's】:
A must-visit landmark in Macau, there are many delicacies nearby, such as egg tarts and beef offal, and the fridge magnets here are also very pretty, you can take a few home if you like.
🔶【Rua da Guia】:
During the day, you can capture a lot of deep and strong street views along this street, be sure to use a telephoto lens to snap a National Geographic-style photo spot!
🔶【Guia Hill Viewing Platform】:
Take the bus to Ocean Gardens Station, walk 700 meters to Guia Hill, no need to climb, there is an elevator directly to the mid-level viewing platform, where you can enjoy the view of Grand Lisboa, and this spot is definitely a hit on social media.
🔶【Rua do Cunha】:
Portuguese-style painted walls and streets, very photogenic, and there are also a lot of delicacies nearby!
🔶【The Londoner】:
European architecture and the Eiffel Tower are here, no need to go abroad to get the same European blockbuster feel.
🔶【Grand Lisboa】:
There is a sky garden on the third floor of the hotel, which is open for free, and the Baroque green plant maze is very photogenic.

Macau Travel | Staying at the world's only Lafayette Hotel
🌟 The Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau houses three hotel buildings, namely the Grand Lisboa Palace Macau, The Versace Hotel Macau, and The Karl Lagerfeld Luxury Hotel Macau. This time, we stayed at The Karl Lagerfeld Luxury Hotel Macau, designed by the fashion icon Mr. Karl Lagerfeld himself. The hotel blends Eastern and Western styles, named after Lafayette, and features elements of Lafayette everywhere. Because he liked looking in mirrors, there are many mirrors along the guest room corridors.
🌟 Guest Rooms
Our deluxe king room had a modern Chinese style, both fashionable and classical. The red sofa and the floor-to-ceiling windows were very photogenic.
🌟 Exhibition Hall
We heard that the hotel's desserts were famous, so on the first day we arrived at the hotel, we went to the Exhibition Hall to try the Versailles-themed afternoon tea. The Exhibition Hall is like a library, very unique. It displays a thousand books, where you can read and enjoy afternoon tea. The smoked salmon waffle, melon with Bayonne ham, mini crab éclair, and lobster with caviar were all delicious and highly recommended.
🌟 Taste Appreciation
Taste Appreciation is also designed by Lafayette, a Portuguese restaurant with a mix of avant-garde and oriental elements in geometric patterns and black, white, and gold lines. Here you can enjoy a variety of classic Portuguese dishes, such as grilled chicken with fries, Caesar salad with Boston lobster, and prawns with seafood coconut milk sauce, all worth recommending.
🌟 Imperial Garden
Entering the Imperial Garden feels like stepping into the Wizard of Oz. I was stunned by the 35-meter-long hand-embroidered Suzhou embroidery. Between the corridor and the main dining area, there is also a set of six double-sided Suzhou embroidered fan screens, with clever and interesting patterns of flowers and birds that come to life on traditional fans, displaying the classical elegance of Chinese style. The restaurant is so beautiful. Looking up, there are crystal chandeliers from a French royal brand, glittering and translucent. The private dining room where we ate was very retro-styled, with a long table and a fireplace, feeling more like being at home. We ordered the executive lunch, which tasted excellent. The golden juice blue angel shrimp dumplings, crab meat and scallop soup dumplings, crispy netted abalone rolls, black pepper and Wagyu snow mountain buns, each dish was a visual treat and a delightful experience for the taste buds.
🌟 Buffet Mountain
We had breakfast at Buffet Mountain, which is larger than other hotel buffets in Macau, with a wide variety of breakfast options, allowing you to taste different Chinese regional cuisines and Southeast Asian food at once. Besides going to Buffet Mountain for breakfast, you can also choose the breakfast room service. After breakfast, I was looking forward to the evening buffet, and it did not disappoint. The restaurant has 12 different themed gourmet areas, and there is an outdoor BBQ on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. After chatting with the chef, I learned that the salmon in the buffet is selected from Norway, and the oysters are from France. The oysters were fresh and sweet, of good quality, and available in unlimited quantities. If you add 180 Macau dollars, you can also enjoy unlimited made-to-order seafood. Lobster, crab, and shrimp can be eaten to your heart's content, and it's said that someone once ate 12 lobsters at once, making it a great value for money. If you want to eat global cuisine, I recommend Buffet Mountain.
🌟 Greenery Garden
Walking through the corridor, the light and shadow cast on the ground, and the warm sunshine sprinkled on me. The fountain in front of Buffet Mountain, the lawns and pavilions on both sides of the garden, the circular dome, and the Instagram-famous European staircase, the Greenery Garden is truly magnificent. No wonder friends who have been there all say it's beautiful, and it's a great place for taking photos.

The golden dream manor in Macau, which is free to visit, is the first choice for autumn travel
This time I stayed at the Grand Lisboa Resort in Macau, which felt really good. Moreover, the "Green Victory" garden, which used to require check-in to visit, is now open for free. There are few people and beautiful scenery, like a secret garden in a European castle, with good shots both day and night.
📸Grand Lisboa Resort Check-in Guide:
1⃣Green Victory Garden
✅Central dome: Retro metal patterns, every shot is a blockbuster.
✅Corridor in front of the fountain: Whether you take a deep corridor or look at the garden from the corridor, it looks like a movie scene.
✅European stairs: Standing on the stairs and taking pictures of the building behind, the night view is absolutely beautiful.
✅Green pavilion: There is one on each side, with different styles, and the frame composition is easy to shoot.
🕛Green Victory Night View Opening Hours: 18:00~22:00
2⃣East Wing Lobby
There are many huge pieces of art collections hanging on the wall, the black and white marble is classic and elegant, it's like watching an art exhibition in a museum.
3⃣Miffy Creative Exhibition·Fashion Travel
Recently, there are cute Miffy rabbits in every corner of the resort. You can see Miffy's look from different eras. There is a special creative exhibition on the second floor. The Miffy DIY by the creators is really beautiful.
4⃣Guest Room
The garden view room has a beautiful window view, and the details of the room and corridor are very delicate, full of Portuguese style.
🍗Grand Lisboa Resort Food Guide:
1⃣Buffet Mountain
We chose this for breakfast for a few days of stay. The buffet has a wide variety of dishes, both Chinese and Western, and you can find suitable dishes no matter what taste you like.
2⃣Huating
Very exquisite Huaiyang cuisine, the method and taste are relatively authentic, suitable for friends who prefer light and sweet taste.
👉Check-in tips:
🚌The Grand Lisboa has a free shuttle bus to and from various ports, Macau Airport, other hotels and major attractions. It runs every 15-20 minutes, and there is no need to queue up. This time I played in Macau for 4 days and basically didn't spend my own transportation fee, which is very convenient.
In November, Macau🇲🇴 will have a lot of local activities such as the Macau Grand Prix🏎️, Macau Lantern Festival, etc., which are very worth a visit!
Hazel White
The only hotel in the world owned by Karl Lagerfeld, the king of cost performance in Macau hotels!
Taking the family to Macau, the first stop is the Karl Lagerfeld Luxury Hotel in Macau, where we stayed half a year ago. This time we chose a luxury garden view room with an area of 70 square meters. If you choose a double bed, it is enough for a family of 3-4. Throughout the summer vacation, the room prices of Macau hotels have remained high, and the occupancy rate has also remained high.
1. The Karl Lagerfeld Luxury Hotel, which has been open for more than a year, has a good cost performance during the summer vacation, the service is very good, and I really like the room breakfast delivery service, which avoids the peak dining queue, and the delivery is very punctual. In addition, the indoor and outdoor swimming pools are absolutely well received, quiet and private. The indoor constant temperature swimming pool carries out Karl Lagerfeld's fashion style, bold and modern mosaics combined with European stone pillars, with deliberately enlarged oriental elements, unique; outdoor swimming pool, as if in the "old Buddha" French mansion, swimming in the outdoor swimming pool, and under the contrast of the black and white stone pillar group, enjoy the charming garden and architectural design of the resort by the pool, and enjoy the endless sunlight;
2. There is also a special art exhibition at the Grand Lisboa Resort. From July 30 to October 15, the Grand Lisboa and the Palace of Versailles jointly present one of the special exhibitions of the "Art and Culture Festival: Macau International Art Biennale 2023": "Virtual Tour of the Palace of Versailles". The exhibition uses 360-degree projection technology to spectacularly present the Palace of Versailles, leading you through time and space to see the brilliant and beautiful Palace of Versailles;
3. Here, you can hear Louis XIV's welcome speech, smell the unique fragrance made with his favorite orange blossom, open the wonderful dreamy multi-sensory, and enjoy the immersive tour of the Palace of Versailles. You can not only appreciate the dazzling art collection of the Palace of Versailles up close, but also many interesting interactive installations for you to further explore the depths of the Palace of Versailles. If you come here during the Mid-Autumn Festival or National Day holiday, you can still experience it;
4. At the same time, the Karl Lagerfeld Luxury Hotel Lobby Bar has also launched a Versailles-themed afternoon tea. In the cool environment like being in Karl Lagerfeld's private library, you can taste smoked salmon waffles, king crab lightning puffs, as well as tiramisu and French red berry cakes and other exquisite desserts, and feel the luxurious French court style through the taste buds;
5. Staying in the hotel, you can go to the Green Victory Garden to take pictures with your room card. This is one of the most popular check-in places in the Grand Lisboa Resort. Under the beautiful interweaving of Baroque architectural style and natural landscape, it is really a quiet place. The lush lawn, elegant and charming garden, romantic and beautiful round arch, and ingenious hedge maze, every step is a fascinating picturesque scenery, you can enjoy travel photography.

The Macau court style is on the top of the Pousada, and I accidentally entered the French-style backyard
It is said that the Pousada Hotel, which is the legacy of the gambling king, has a very beautiful toilet with a cloakroom. The room is very large and the bed is very comfortable. You can fall asleep when you lie down. The first night also gave away the drinks in the refrigerator. There are many high-definition TV channels, and the speakers are Yamaha's. The toiletries are very good. Now the hotel comes with domestic plug sockets, and there are many sockets, which is very convenient, no need to bring a converter!!! There are free shuttle buses to and from Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Xinpujing, Venetian, old city and other places. It is the closest one to the Macau Hengqin port, so although the geographical location is not particularly superior, it is also very convenient. The price is higher than the cost-effective ones near the city. And because it is newly built, all facilities are very new. The resort comes with a cdf duty-free shop, supermarket and shopping mall. There is a self-service mountain and a popular garden on the third floor. The hotel's restaurant is not cheap. I ate a Le Cai restaurant. The things are expensive and there is a service charge, but the things are not as delicious as Guangzhou... The overall consumption is higher than Hong Kong, the price is high on weekends, and it is more cost-effective to go on weekdays. When I went there, I happened to encounter the hotel Miffy exhibition, which was generally okay. If you bring children and don't like to toss, you can choose a hotel closer to the city.
