Rating: This is a very popular fish cake shop on Haeundae Pedestrian Street. It has greatly changed my stereotype of Korean fish cakes. The fish cakes you usually get at roadside stalls or markets are rolled into a rectangular shape, skewered on long bamboo sticks, and cooked in bonito broth. It’s a bit like the way to eat oden. A portion costs about 1,000 to 1,200 won.
In addition to traditional fish cakes, the fish cakes here are also available in a variety of ingredients and shapes. The price is slightly higher but it is proportional to the size, quantity and ingredients of the fish cakes. There are a wide variety of fish cakes on display, and choosing one is like selling bread. Just put the fish cake you like on a plate and go to the counter to pay. There will be unlimited supply of tasting samples in front of each fish cake counter at irregular intervals. If you like cooked food such as udon or spicy rice cakes when checking out at the counter, you can order them together. A number plate will be made for you and your meal will be picked up.
There are many microwave ovens next to the dining area for heating fish cakes. Because there is baking paper on the wooden plate, I will first put the baking paper and the fish cakes on the oven plate, and then use the scissors next to it to cut the purchased fish cakes. Then heat it in the microwave. There is a recommended microwave time above. I usually use medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes. If it’s not hot enough, try again. There are also store recommendations for heating methods for reference. On the other side of the seating area, there is free all-you-can-drink bonito soup.
I think the taste of fish cakes is a matter of personal preference. Some of the ones I like are not liked by my friends. Fortunately, the store is very considerate and provides unlimited tasting service, and the fish cakes for tasting are all heated up.
