The Bangkok temple tour
#thailandtrip
The Bangkok temple tour was an extraordinary cultural experience. Starting at the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, the intricate architecture and historical significance were impressive. Wat Pho followed, featuring the magnificent reclining Buddha and a traditional Thai massage school. A short ferry ride took us to Wat Arun, where the colorful porcelain-decorated prang provided breathtaking views. Climbing Wat Saket, or the Golden Mount, rewarded us with panoramic city vistas and a serene atmosphere. The tour concluded at Wat Suthat, with its beautiful murals and the iconic Giant Swing. Overall, the tour was well-organized, informative, and deeply enriching, showcasing Bangkok's rich cultural heritage.
### Tips for Future Travelers
- **Dress Appropriately:** Ensure your shoulders and knees are covered. Most temples provide sarongs if needed.

For these nine pictures, a college student went to Thailand alone
Recently, Thailand has been visa-free, so I found a weekend plus Monday to take a short vacation for a few days.
Although it's only three days, I took a lot of satisfactory photos. Bangkok is a crazy and interesting city
The Buddha statues all over the street, the friendly locals, the backpackers of different skin colors, and the terrible traffic are the impressions Bangkok left me.
Share the locations of these 9 pictures to facilitate everyone to check in
1⃣️Lad ya 8: The classic position of the Big Buddha in the Water Gate Temple, with a strong visual shock. A few years ago, I was full of longing for Bangkok because of this scene. Now I finally realized my wish to check in here. (200mm lens + cropping)
2⃣️Oppsite Bangkok Polytechnic College: Locate this bus station, you can take a picture of the big swing, with a small aperture and a large depth of field, to fully reflect the messy wires and crowded traffic in Bangkok.
3⃣️Bamrung Mueang Rd: A small road full of Buddha statues for sale, which looks very interesting, can be checked in with 2⃣️
4⃣️5⃣️Golden Mountain Temple: A relatively niche temple, almost no one, picture four is in the temple at the foot of the mountain, picture five is overlooking the whole city of Bangkok after climbing the golden mountain, you can see the famous Zheng Wang Temple. Can be checked in with 2⃣️3⃣️.
6⃣️Mahathat Temple: The treasure city around Bangkok, the big city government, the most famous is the scene of the tree hugging Buddha's head (specific strategies can be seen in the previous article)
7⃣️Chinatown: The signs in Chinatown are colorful and very beautiful, and there are many street foods worth trying, but it seems that there is some festival recently, and many banners have been hung
8⃣️Japan Street: Locate to thaniya, the neon lights all over the street are very beautiful for taking pictures, as if you are in the streets of Japan, there are some adult projects soliciting customers on the roadside, and I dare not take pictures..
9⃣️Zheng Wang Temple: My favorite one among all the temples in Bangkok, the white pagoda is very different, and it has a dreamy feeling

As you climb the 318 steps to the top of the Golden Mount, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the city and a deeper appreciation for Thailand's rich cultural history.
A Spiritual Haven: Beyond its architectural beauty, Wat Saket is a place of spiritual significance. Golden Mount Temple (Wat Saket)
The Golden Mount is an amazing child-friendly temple in the heart of Bangkok. Wat Saket holds the title of the highest temple in Bangkok. The landmark can be seen from miles around and once at the temple, the top can be reached by climbing some 318 steps which encircle the chedi.
Once upstairs you exit the temple itself. This one is not very impressive, but you do have a great view of the city from up here! By the way, you can also buy an ice-cold can of drink here and a coke tastes really extra good after such a climb!
We enjoyed the visit to this temple. It's really a very different experience than at the famous temples!

Temple on a Hill
Wat Saket, also known as Golden Mount Temple, is another of the many temples located in and worthy of addition to your things to do in Bangkok. Located on the only hill in Bangkok, this Buddhist temple is surely a sight for the eye.
Not only is the temple itself worth a visit. The view from the top of the hill is also great. This visit may well be an adventure as the 320 stairs take you up to the top for panoramic view of the Rattanakosin island. But don't be on a rush and insteadtake your time and enjoy the view every step on your your way.
If this is your first time in Bangkok, I highly recommend paying it a visit.

Golden mount in central of Bangkok
Golden mount is located almost central of Bangkok. In the past it just a place to put the dead body (lots of people dead from the deceased/epidemic) and they were eaten by griffons.
The golden mount was built in the reign of King Rama the 5th and put the relic of the lord buddha on top of the mountain.
Lot’s of people can come to pay respect 7.30-19.00, walking up 344 steps to the top.
Good 360 degree views from top of the mountain.

Climbing the Golden Mount.. Wat Saket.
Wat Saket
.. is an ancient temple from the Ayutthaya period, originally named Wat Sa Kae. King Rama I ordered its restoration and the digging of a canal around the temple, then renamed it Wat Saket, which means 'to cleanse the hair'.
.. During the reign of King Rama IV, the temple was redesigned to include a chedi on top of a man-made hill, enshrining the Buddha's relics. The construction was completed during the reign of King Rama V and was named 'Suwannabanphot'.

The highlight of the temple is the Phra Borom Banphot or Golden Mount, which stands 77 meters tall. Evening Zen Thoughts at Wat Saket
In the evening, I climbed the steps to Wat Saket in Bangkok. This temple stands like a silent golden pearl above the city's hustle and bustle. The clear ringing of bells on either side of the steps seems to offer a calming tribute to each climber. As I ascended, the view gradually opened up, and the breeze carried a hint of grass and incense, bringing a sense of peace.
At the top, the golden stupa shone brilliantly in the sunset, like a beacon in the sky. Overlooking Bangkok, the city's vibrancy and daily life were in full view; the distant Chao Phraya River sparkled with rippling light, blending with the twilight into a serene picture. At this moment, the monks' chanting reached my ears, deep and powerful, as if reminding people to cherish the present peace.
The evening at Wat Saket is not only a visual feast but also a journey of inner dialogue. In this golden light, busy thoughts are soothed, and a quiet Zen feeling naturally arises.

Magnificent...Phu Khao Thong Temple Fair
#Visit the temple fair
Once upon a time...do you still remember?? The atmosphere of the Phu Khao Thong Temple Fair. I must say that Thai people love visiting temple fairs because in addition to making merit, they also get to enjoy many activities and food.
The return of the Phu Khao Thong Temple Fair after a hiatus of almost five years is grand and worth the wait. The event is quite crowded. If you want to avoid the problem of crowds, we recommend coming in the evening when there aren't many people yet.
Today, I have collected some pictures of the event atmosphere for you, in case anyone is interested in joining the event.
Highlights of the Phu Khao Thong Temple Fair
Red Cloth Wrapping Tradition:
An important ceremony that we Buddhists attach importance to because we believe that participating in this ceremony will bring good fortune to ourselves.
Paying homage to the Buddha's relics:
It can be seen that many Thai people travel to pay homage to the Buddha's relics with faith and for good fortune in life.
Climbing the Royal Mountain:
Walking up to pay homage to the Royal Mountain or Phu Khao Thong is another thing that Thai Buddhists must do at least once in their lives for good fortune.
Temple Fair Activities:
Inside the event, there are also performances of old-style country music, Thai cultural performances, rental and wearing of Thai costumes to walk around the temple fair, floating scented candles to worship the little Buddha, and massage, which I tried for the first time in my life, very strange. The highlight that I believe everyone who comes will not miss is the food stalls selling both real food and snacks. There are hundreds of stalls, so dazzling and impressive that you won't be able to choose what to eat.
The event lasts for 10 days and 10 nights. This year, if anyone doesn't have a plan to go anywhere for Loi Krathong Day, try following the footsteps of the Phu Khao Thong Temple Fair. I can tell you in one word that it is truly a grand and magnificent temple fair.
JUDY Around the World
Floating Krathong amidst a retro temple fair atmosphere in the middle of the city
#LoyKrathong2567 This year, the Phu Khao Thong Temple Fair has returned to be held grandly for the first time in many years, which is considered very worthwhile waiting for. It is organized in a grand style for 10 days, both in the area of Wat Saket and the lower part of Phu Khao Thong, creating a traditional temple fair atmosphere full of Thai charm.
For the Loy Krathong festival, the temple has arranged a small area for floating Krathongs within the temple itself, making this Loy Krathong festival more convenient, safe, and peaceful.
Another highlight that cannot be missed is the magnificent light decorations around the temple, especially the area in front of Phu Khao Thong and the surrounding area, which are decorated with perfect lighting, adding beauty in the evening, making you feel like you have traveled back in time.
For anyone who misses the atmosphere of a temple fair like this, I would like you to try walking around. There is everything, including balloon throwing, shooting guns, bingo, and a Ferris wheel, like going back to your childhood. There are also many food stalls to choose from, and for those who want to try wearing Thai costumes and take beautiful photos, this service is also available here.

Bangkok Temples: The Way To Get To Know This City
#voyagevibes
Every guest of Bangkok should first of all start exploring the capital from Bangkok famous temples. After all, in addition to the fact that they are very beautiful and famous, they are also the most important sacred places for the inhabitants of Thailand.
There are most beautiful and popular among tourists. They are popular for a reason, and they are worth visiting:
The Temple of the Golden Buddha (Wat Trai Mit) could be just one of thousands of temples, if not for the world's largest golden statue of a seated Buddha. Thais say that it consists entirely of gold, and its weight is 5 and a half tons. The pupils of the Buddha's eyes are black Thai sapphires, and the whites of the eyes are made of pearls. The temple complex consists of several temple buildings and even a museum, so there will be something to see here.
The Marble Temple (Wat Benchamabophit, also Marble Temple) is one of the most beautiful in Bangkok. Although it is called "Marble", in literal translation the name sounds like "The Temple of King Rama V", by whose order it was built in 1899. After the death of the king, his ashes were immured at the base of the main Buddha statue of the temple.
Wat Suthat Thep Wararam Temple, located in the heart of Bangkok, is one of the oldest. It is known for hosting one of the most beautiful and largest Viharn (sermon hall). The temple began to be built in 1807 under King Rama I, and was completed only in 1947 under King Rama III. At the base of the pedestal of the statue is a part of the ashes of King King Rama VIII. In 2005, the temple was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The Ratchanadaram Temple (Wat Ratchanaddaram, also Ratchanadda) began to be built in 1846 by order of King Rama III, but to date the construction is still considered incomplete, which makes it the longest long–term construction in Thailand - more than 160 years. It is interesting, first of all, for its unusual architecture, different from other Thai temples: the main chedi is made in the form of a multi-level pyramid made of metal. the territory of the complex is quite large, decorated with greenery and beautiful buildings, but there are very few tourists here.
The Temple of the Golden Mountain (Wat Saket) is famous for its gilded pagoda built on a high artificial hill called the golden mountain. For a long time, before skyscrapers began to be built in Bangkok, this pagoda was the tallest building in the city. This temple is very revered by believers, because it contains a piece of Buddha's ashes brought from India.

Wat Saket, Golden Mount, City Button.
Wat Saket or Wat Phu Khao Thong, City Button, climb the mountain to pay respect to the Buddha and enjoy the view of Bangkok.
During my visit, the temple was under renovation, so I couldn't take pictures of the stupa. The sky was about to rain, and it was very cloudy. 😂🤣
I went on the wrong day, but it's one of my favorite temples.
Because you have to climb the mountain, and the beautiful view makes it all worth it. 💕
It's easy to get there. Just get off at MRT Sam Yot and walk a little bit.
You can also visit the Giant Swing afterward.

Wat Phu Khao Thong, Bangkok
Today, I made a spontaneous visit. Seeing that there was no traffic, I turned into the temple and parked inside, making it easy to walk around.
Foreigners need to buy a ticket to go up Phu Khao Thong, but it's free for locals.
The climb isn't too tiring, but during the rainy season, you might need to speed up a bit. Once you reach the top, there's a spot to pay respects to the Buddha. It was quite crowded. After paying respects, you can go up to the very top to worship the Phu Khao Thong relic and enjoy a 360-degree view of Bangkok.
I recommend coming early in the morning to park inside the temple. If it's full, I'm not sure where else you can park. 😅
