Golden Mermaid, Laem Samila, Songkhla
Golden Mermaid Statue at Laem Samila, Songkhla Province
There is a story told in the past that
there was a mermaid who would come and comb her hair on the beach at Samila with a golden comb.
Then a fisherman walked by, which startled the mermaid.
So she quickly ran into the sea and forgot the golden comb on the shore.
When the fisherman saw her, he kept the golden comb.
To wait for the mermaid on that beach all the time.
But the mermaid never appeared again. Then someone came to make a statue to commemorate her. For those who have never been here, come and see it. It is right on the beach.

One of the tourist spots that must be visited at Samila beach is the golden mermaid statue. The parking location is very large which can accommodate buses and private vehicles, we only walk a few hundred meters from the beach to the parking location. The atmosphere along the beach is very clean and beautiful, there are several photo spots that visitors can use at this location. There are also souvenir and clothing sellers available that visitors can buy. The toilet is in a clothing store which provides these facilities for a fee. The beach location is very clean and tends to be windy, visitors must bring a wide hat or umbrella, there are horses that can be rented to go around this beach.
There were no visitors seen bathing in this beach area, perhaps because the waves were strong. At the Golden Mermaid statue, there are many queues to take photos, so visitors must be patient when taking photos at this spot. Visitors can enjoy the beauty of the beach by using the track provided besides walking on the beach sand. What you must try is coconut ice cream, where you can enjoy coconut water for free if you buy the ice cream, and there are other interesting snacks available to buy at affordable prices.
