In fact, the night view of Kanyama Park, which is about a 2-minute walk from the second gate of Glover Garden, is also one of the most beautiful night views in Nagasaki. You can see the night view of the Goddess Bridge, the port, and Nagasaki city from the side instead of a bird's eye view. It is not as crowded as Mt. #Travel Course After having unlimited alcohol twilight afternoon tea the day before, I went back to the hotel, wrote a review for Day 1, and passed out. I woke up at dawn, took a bath, and fell asleep again. I attended breakfast at 6:40. As expected from a hotel located in the middle of Shinchi Chinatown, Chinese food makes up a significant portion of the breakfast menu. After breakfast, I went to Nagasaki Station at 7:30. I took the Shinkansen to Shin-Omura Station and collected manhole covers. I also stopped by Star Bar. I returned to Nagasaki Station at 9. I collected Nagasaki design manhole covers. I came across a poster selling Hello Kitty X Glover Garden collaboration goods. I split my time and went up Glover Garden for the Nth time. I bought limited edition Kitty goods. Kitty-chan is limited edition~! This is the standard for purchasing Made in Japan. The weather is the best, so the photos are also the best. I also received a manhole card. I will face off with 1,500 cruise tourists. I will return to the hotel at 10:30. After taking a cold shower, I will check out and participate in the first afternoon tea. Regular afternoon tea is only available for 2 people or more, so I will reserve a dessert & drink set as a niche market. Savory is excluded, and 7 kinds of desserts are included with 2 glasses of Sukinanomimono and are guaranteed for 2 hours. All sweets are delicious. Nagasaki black tea is also JMT. I will crush it deliciously and shop with the 500 yen Amu Plaza voucher I received the day before. I will buy a 550 yen Kitty apple and pay only 50 yen more. I will participate in the second afternoon tea. I will visit the place where I enjoyed the Twilight Afternoon Tea the day before. The staff will welcome me last night. I will also give them a high five. The weather is nice, so the background is amazing. The afternoon tea is also amazing. It's been 7 years since I've been to Nagasaki, and it's really great. I'm going to Saga. I'll use my super powers to step on the 55-minute time limit in 44 minutes. I'll collect all the Pokemon Nya (Na) Ong and transfer to the conventional line/Shinkansen at Shintosu Station in 2 minutes. I'll arrive in Kumamoto 35 minutes early. Travel genius~! I'll definitely do it~! I'll check in to the hotel in Kumamoto. I swiped the Kanin-sama QR when I checked in~! I've been doing it since Jal City Haneda. The single room I reserved (standard queen room) doesn't have a view of Kumamoto Castle at all.🤣 I reserved it for 12,000 yen with breakfast included. The staff is making a suggestion~! Kanin-sama said that he would give me a 1.5 times larger twin room for an additional 1,000 yen, and a corner room next to the 12th floor standard room with a view of Kumamoto Castle and the city at the same time, so I would get a paid upgrade. I went to Sakuramachi, which is a hot place with a giant Kumamon, and touched the soles of the giant Kumamon-chan's feet. It was so big! I walked to the arcade to digest it and wrote a review at a nearby Starbucks. I spent the day writing a review at Starbucks until 10:30, and then went back to the hotel across the street to stare at the night view of Kumamoto Castle. You can choose 2 cups of your favorite menu from black tea and coffee for the drinks. The 7 kinds of desserts consist of 6 kinds of cake and 1 kind of fruit (🍓). The cream is delicious, and the strawberries are cut in half beautifully. Among the black teas, there were varieties grown in Nagasaki Prefecture, so I was able to choose one out of two cups and taste them. #summervacay My 5-day North Kyushu trip left me with a clear favorite: Nagasaki! Mojiko came in second, while Beppu and Yufuin, honestly, were mostly just for the novelty of their "diet" products. Nagasaki is truly a special place. It's a city that carries profound history, yet it's also rich in culture and boasts beautiful scenery. The pedestrian streets near Meganebashi (Spectacles Bridge) were wonderfully uncrowded and offered great prices. I found a mochi shop there with an incredibly delicious strawberry daifuku for just ¥200 – it literally burst in my mouth! Glover Garden was also stunning, and the ¥600 entrance fee felt like a steal, especially with elevators making it easy to explore the expansive grounds. If I ever get another chance, I would absolutely love to spend three full days in Nagasaki! The most famous site in the garden is the "Old Glover Residence," built in 1863 by Scottish merchant Thomas Glover. This wooden Western-style house is the oldest of its kind in Japan and has been designated as an Important Cultural Property. Mr. Glover played a significant role in Japan's modernization during the Meiji Restoration, contributing to the development of shipbuilding and mining industries, earning him the title "Pioneer of Japan's Modernization." We visited Glover Garden during our trip to Nagasaki, and honestly, it felt like stepping back into a romantic chapter of history. Set on the hillside of Minami-Yamate, the garden is full of charming Western-style buildings from the Meiji era, including the famous Glover Residence—the oldest Western-style wooden house in Japan. Walking along the cobblestone paths lined with seasonal flowers, I loved how the architecture blends Western design with Japanese roof tiles and beautiful gardens. Inside the Glover House, the period furniture and sunlit rooms really made it easy to imagine life back then for foreign merchants living here. The views over Nagasaki Harbor from different spots were absolutely breathtaking—the crisp air, distant mountains, and sparkling bay made for some of my favorite photo moments. One fun surprise was finding the “Heart Stones” hidden along the paths—there’s a local legend that couples who find and touch them will stay together, which added a cute, romantic touch to the visit. What I really appreciated was the peaceful vibe of the whole place. It wasn’t overcrowded, so we could take our time exploring and just soak in the atmosphere. The garden is easy to navigate with escalators and plenty of benches to relax on, making the visit comfortable and leisurely. If you’re visiting Nagasaki, I’d definitely recommend Glover Garden.
