1. Geumsansa Temple Overview
It was founded during the reign of King Beop of Baekje during the Three Kingdoms period and is said to have been rebuilt by Jinpyo during the Unified Silla period. It is famous as the place where King Gyeon Hwon, who founded Later Baekje, was confined by his eldest son, Singeom. During the Imjin War, the entire temple was burned down by the Japanese army, and major records were lost. It was rebuilt during the reign of King Injo of Joseon and remains to this day.
