[2025 Bagan Attraction] Travel Guide for Gawdawpalin Temple (Updated May)

I really love cities that have a unique, charming atmosphere all over the place - the cities that feel like one big attraction, no matter where you are. It's way better than those places where you see only a few tourist spots just to tick them off the list. Mandaly is one of those cities where you can just feel the amazing touch of royal splendor and the beautiful charm in the air, everywhere. Very few western tourists, no con artist, no hustlers. Well, there's also a dark side to it - the ubiquitous pollution, but let's focus on the positive side. We spent only one and a half days in Mandalay but it felt like we had seen enough and explored the city well - not only the temples but also ordinary places where local people go about with their lives. It's an easy city to walk around - but if you're too tired, hailing a taxi won't break the bank. Just be careful of stray dogs - they seem to walk in packs in some places and can get aggressive. The price for a chartered car is 50,000 local currency per day, and the price for an electric car is 15,000 local currency per day Other cities to Bagan: There are city buses from Yangon or Mandalay to Bagan. I recommend taking JJ Express, which has good service and night buses with reclining seats.

The Gppalin Temple was built in the 11th century by King Napalatishu and was completed by his successor, Zilominho. It belongs to late architecture. 55 meters high, is the second tallest building in Bagan. This great temple is very beautiful and is very suitable for taking pictures. Many tourists have left the most beautiful and most memorable memories of their trip to Myanmar. The biggest attraction in the temple is a golden and beautiful Buddha statue. All kinds of Buddha statues are serene, face and sly, and the swaying is particularly dazzling, so that every visitor will unconsciously worship. Each temple has a magical legend. It is said that the king is too arrogant and arrogant, claiming that his achievements far exceed the ancestors of the past dynasties. As a result, he became a blind man.
