Tsim Sha Tsui Hotel Review: Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel
Hotel Comprehensive Recommendation Index: Four stars
Hotel Frequent Traveler Membership Level: GHA Titanium Gold
Overall Evaluation: The service is very good, and the location is super great as it is inside Harbour City. It's very convenient to go anywhere, and you can directly reach the Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station through Harbour City without being exposed to the outdoors, which is incredibly cool in this hot weather. Just a few steps downstairs, there is a bus to the airport.
The front desk was very enthusiastic during check-in, and they informed me of a welcome gift of juice, cookies, and fruit to choose one from. Unexpectedly, I found all three in the room. This kind of welcome gift is normal in Mainland China, but it's really luxurious in Hong Kong.
GHA Titanium Gold card strictly upgrades two levels, from a basic room to a deluxe room. It is advised not to book a basic room!!! Because upgrading from a basic room to the next level will get you to the VIP floor, where you can enjoy the executive lounge happy hour for free!
The room size is acceptable considering the prime location in Tsim Sha Tsui. A free mini bar is also relatively rare in Hong Kong, which includes sparkling water and drinks.
Titanium Gold members are offered a single breakfast, which is quite good, including the famous fish ball noodles from 'McDull', but they are not very tasty.
The swimming pool is shared with the Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel, and you have to go to the Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel to use it, and it closes at six in the afternoon, which is not very convenient.
Considering the general price increase of hotels in Hong Kong, the room rate of fifteen to sixteen hundred is not too expensive, especially since it is in the prime location of Tsim Sha Tsui. However, if you book last minute at three thousand, it's not worth it.
