Kyoto, Japan - Beautiful architecture of exposed concrete: the famous ceramic painting garden
Today's itinerary is a bit unpopular. We walked around Kamigamo to Kitayama in the upper reaches of the Kamogawa River, visited #Kamigamo-jinja Shrine, #Kyoto Botanical Garden, and #Kyoto Toban Meiga Garden. Except for Kamigamo-jinja Shrine in the north-Genbu direction, which still had a few tourists, the botanical garden was full of locals, and there was no one at the Toban Meiga Garden. I'm afraid that even Kyoto people don't know about this place.
The Ceramic Painting Garden, with a ticket price of 100 yuan, is a modern open-air museum with an all-exposed concrete building that exhibits large murals or ceramic paintings on concrete walls. It is an entirely outdoor space with no indoor air conditioning. Fortunately, there are many shadows at the corners, which can provide some coolness.
The first ceramic painting at the entrance, #Monet's Water Lilies, is spread out horizontally on the water, which is quite attractive. In fact, the point is not to look at the painting, but to appreciate this angular exposed concrete building. If the viewing angle is slightly moved, a geometric spatial picture with interlaced lines can be formed, which is very interesting and easy to photograph.
The open three-story space uses ceramic paintings, water landscaping, glass windows, and foam to match the light gray and lifeless concrete, with a strong modern architectural aesthetic.
If you go to Kyoto Botanical Gardens to enjoy the flowers, #hydrangea( #hydrangea) and #iris are in bloom now. You can also spend 10 minutes to visit Toban Meigaien Garden. It is right next to the exit of Kitayama Station on the subway, so you will definitely pass by it.
By the way, I would like to recommend several restaurants around Kitayama Station: the popular soba noodles that locals eat #よしむら北山ロ, the bread bakery + afternoon tea shop #浅浅堂, the well-known old-fashioned Western restaurant #东洋堂, and the Japanese-style old house coffee #cafepeu_a_peu.
