Galvin La Chapelle is located near London Liverpool Street Station. It is a Michelin one-star French restaurant. The restaurant has a high ceiling, elegant decoration and is very impressive. We visited during lunch time on the weekend and the restaurant was very crowded. We chose a three-course set lunch menu, which included half a bottle of wine and a petit four. Galvin La Chapelle 📍 35 Spital Square, London E1 6DY, UK I made a reservation at the Michelin one-star restaurant Galvin La Chapelle. Since it's located in the East End, close to the financial district, during lunch, every table around was filled with gentlemen in suits discussing various company matters. You can choose the type of bread before the meal, and I found the white bread tastier. Paired with the slightly salty butter, the soft bread was even more flavorful! Cod & Lobster Brandade, Rouille & Bisque At first glance, the dish didn’t look particularly impressive, with a layer of mayonnaise at the bottom. The taste was light, but surprisingly delicious! The salty and fresh flavors of the seafood were brought out to the fullest! Pheasant Breast, Pine Purée, Pancetta, Pearl Onions & Button Mushrooms From the start, the pheasant breast was incredibly tender. It might be smaller than the glass-fronted office buildings that surround it but this red-brick, Grade II listed former school certainly holds its own. The magnificent vaulted room lends itself effortlessly to its role as a glamorous brasserie and the atmosphere is buzzy without being overly loud. It’s a family affair, with Jeff Galvin in the kitchen and brother David responsible for sourcing produce at the market. Cooking is classic French with a light, modern touch, and there are no unnecessary fripperies – just reassuringly familiar combinations with the emphasis on bold, harmonious flavours.
