The castle tower of Ogaki Castle has four floors, which is extremely rare among castles in Japan, and the castle is loved by citizens as a symbol of "castle town Ogaki". In the Battle of Sekihara in 1600, Ogaki Castle was used as the base camp by Ishida Mitsunari of the Western Army. After the decisive troops moved to Sekihara, a heroic offensive and defensive battle was also launched here. After the end of the Warring States Period, Japan ushered in the Edo period. After 1635, the 11th generation of the Toda family inherited the position of the Lord of the Hundred Thousand Stones. The city was destroyed by war and was rebuilt in 1959.
