Fuzhou Museum was founded in 1987. Its original site was located in the Dashi Temple of Yushan in Gulou District, Fuzhou. The new museum is located at No. 8 Wenbo Road, Jin'an District, covering an area of 14.47 acres and a total construction area of 11,198 square meters. Fuzhou Museum integrates the collection, preservation, protection, appreciation and research of cultural relics. It mainly displays the glorious history of Fuzhou and promotes the unique local culture of Fuzhou through exhibitions and cultural exchanges. The museum's collection of cultural relics includes ceramics, bronzes, Shoushan stone carvings, calligraphy and paintings, silk fabrics, lacquerware, jade, antique furniture and ancient wood carvings, among which Shoushan stone carvings, calligraphy and paintings, and silk fabrics are its characteristics. Currently, there are two fixed exhibitions for Complimentary viewing: "The Splendor of Mindu - Fuzhou Historical and Cultural Exhibition" and "The Portal of the Maritime Silk Road, the Blessed State - Fuzhou "Maritime Silk Road" Cultural Heritage Special Exhibition". In addition, Fuzhou Museum has continuously launched some well-planned, themed and novel special exhibitions and various temporary exhibitions with rich content, diverse forms and a strong sense of the times.
