The owner insisted on using things that are kind to people and the environment. All amenities are from "MARK&WEB", and the kitchen utensils and furniture are from "Snow Peak" and "BALMUDA". 📍Goto Islands, Fukue Island Fukue Island, the largest island in the Goto Islands in Nagasaki Prefecture. A little over 3 hours by ferry from Nagasaki. About 1 hour by high-speed boat Surrounded by beautiful seas and magnificent nature, you'll find spectacular views no matter where you look! In particular, Takahama Beach has a crystal clear blue sea, making it a relaxing trip to the tropical Goto Islands and Fukue Island. The island is home to many attractions where history and nature blend together, such as Japan's oldest wooden church, Dozaki Cathedral, and the cliff-top Osezaki Lighthouse. The fresh local seafood and Goto udon noodles are also delicious. #0yentravelautumn [Fukue Port Festival] The Nebuta and the drums of the Ohayashi festival were gorgeous and powerful, and worth seeing. At night, there are fireworks near the ferry terminal. You can see them from a great view point without the crowds. [Hotel Kararito] A beautiful hotel with a view of the ocean. The restaurant (cafe) is recommended. The crystal clear Kozuko Beach is also nearby. [Goto Gin (Goto Tsubaki Distillery)] A gin distillery in the Handomari area in the north of Fukue Island. It is located in a secluded area, quiet and very beautiful. It is surrounded by mountains and the sea is clear blue-green, making it a truly unexplored place. The hidden Christian church there and this small distilled liquor are very charming and worth going to.

I've always wanted to go to the Goto Islands. As the island is known as the "island of prayer," there are many churches on the island that are World Heritage sites that trace the history of the hidden Christians, and it's interesting to just visit each one. Above all, the island has a crystal clear sea, a sky that stretches out as far as the eye can see, mountains and skies that look like computer screens, rivers, waterfalls, lighthouses, and other untouched natural treasures, so it's no wonder they are used for filming movies and dramas. It's also interesting to transfer at Nagasaki or Fukuoka and get off on a propeller plane, which feels like a bit of an attraction. (You can also get there by high-speed boat from Nagasaki Port) Although some new hotels have been built, it's definitely a hidden gem with few people. This time, I stayed on the largest island, Fukue Island, known as Shimogoto, but if you want to go to Kamigoto, I recommend staying for three nights as there are not many ferries. You can do marine sports, and there are fishing spots everywhere around the island surrounded by the sea, and if you're a Ghibli fan, you'll enjoy seeing the original drawings of many masterpieces at the Yamamoto Nizo Museum. The restaurants on the island have yet to catch up with the number of tourists, and many of them are closed on irregular days, so you may not be able to get a meal unless you make a reservation... (I also had a day when I couldn't get into any of the stores during my trip and had to make do with supermarket prepared foods 💦) However, I would like you to go and experience the unique island atmosphere and the relaxed flow of time. If you come to the Goto Islands, you can't miss the fresh seafood! Shiki no Aji Yakko is difficult to make a reservation at (it's hard to get through on the phone!), but I managed to go there during my stay in Goto. Reasonably priced dishes, local sake, the chef, friendly staff, and the customers all had a great time! Before I knew it, the chef started drinking with us at the counter... lol They gave us a lot of free drinks and snacks, which I felt bad about. This kind of atmosphere must be the secret to their popularity. It was a great memory of my trip. Mochizuki is a Japanese-style restaurant on Fukue Island! The Goto beef steaks were already sold out at lunch, so I had Goto beef stew instead. The steak is a bit extravagant for launch, but you can get the stew for around ¥2,000. The staff were very friendly, and I was able to leisurely enjoy my Goto beef stew.
