Luxury resort with its own fields!
Last year, we had the opportunity to have Afternoon tea at Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai and were so impressed by the atmosphere inside the resort that we decided that if we had the chance (and enough money), we would like to try staying here once. After a full year, the opportunity finally came. We would like to share our experience and impression from our stay at Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai with our friends.
= Location =
Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai is located in Mae Rim District, about a 40-minute drive from Chiang Mai Airport. The resort is surrounded by mountains. Mae Rim Market is not far from the resort. It is also not far from various tourist attractions in Mae Rim District. If you do not rent a car, you can contact the resort to arrange a pick-up and drop-off service (with additional charges).
= Design =
Although the hotel has been open for more than 20 years, the design here still feels contemporary and unique, in line with the resort's strengths, which are to make guests feel like they are relaxing in a rural village of the old Chiang Mai people. However, the interior design still emphasizes simplicity and luxury, using yellow tones contrasting with the dark brown tones of the wood and roofs of each villa, making it look very classy. To be honest, before staying here, we thought that this place would look old and outdated. But when we actually saw the room, even though it was the first room, It is decorated luxuriously and not as old or outdated as I thought.
Another highlight of the resort is the rice fields in the middle of the resort. It gives a different, natural feeling and is beautifully different according to the season. This makes staying at different times special. Last time, we came during the rainy season and saw lush green rice fields, which gave us a refreshing feeling. This time, we came when the rice fields were starting to turn gold, entering the harvest season. It gave us a different kind of warm and beautiful feeling. I recommend that if anyone wants to stay here and expects to take beautiful pictures of the rice fields, ask the resort first so that you don't waste your trip.
= Villa =
The accommodation here is divided into Pavilions, which come in 4 types (the interior design and size of the rooms are the same, but the view is different), Pool Villas (there are 12 houses in total, with the same appearance and size), and Private residences (the largest is 4 bedrooms). The highlight room here is the Upper Rice Terrace Pavilion, which is a Pavilion room on the second floor with a high-angle view of the rice fields. It is the most expensive Pavilion room. The highlight of the Pool Villa room is the privacy and the size of the room, which is very spacious. In this review, we will take you to see the 2 types of rooms that we booked: the Garden Pavilion room, which is the starting room, and the Pool Villa room, which we later requested an upgrade from the resort. Let's see the details of each type and what are the advantages. If you are interested, click to follow and read the details in the next picture.
= Overall =
In addition to the atmosphere, beauty, and luxury of staying at Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai, there are also many activities for guests to participate in, such as bathing buffaloes, morning yoga, cooking class, and spa. If you are staying here and want to fully enjoy the atmosphere and activities, you should stay at least 2 nights because we only stayed for 1 night and still felt unsatisfied, and there were so many things we wanted to do.
Personally, we were impressed by the atmosphere of the resort, the beautiful architecture that was thought up and arranged to blend in well with the surrounding nature. Every corner looked beautiful. All the staff were smiling and had great service minds. Breakfast was a buffet with a variety of flavors. This is another resort that we would like to recommend and encourage our friends to try staying there because the resort is currently running a promotion that is quite good and accessible (more than before). However, there are some points that you should be careful of for those who do not like peace and quiet, or insects that you might encounter. With prices that are quite high during normal times (which will soon return to normal), if anyone is interested, hurry up and book, hurry up and use the "We Travel Together" program before the rights run out, so that you don't miss out on the experience of staying at the country's top resorts this time.
