Five Oars Coffee Roasters
By far, this cafe has been my favourite in Singapore. Almost every dish I tried has it's flavours on point and the quality of the ingredients were good too. On both occasions, I visited during dinner and their menu differs between day and night so do take note!
The Mentaiko Mac and Cheese is a crowd favourite, it's hard to go wrong with, great for sharing. The Carbonara was flavourful and very saucy. Some may find this too "jelak" or heavy but personally I loved it, dipped the fries in to finish up that good sacue too.
The Wagyu Burger was pretty decent, flavours were well balanced, everything you need in a satisfying burger. The Risotto had a good texture and taste, though this was not my main, I thought it could use another element to make this dish more outstanding.
My favourite was the Seafood Bouillabaisse, look how generous they are with their soughdough bread! The bread was perfectly toasted and it soaked up the soup nicely. The prawns and squid were fresh and juicy in comparison to other cafes I've been to. The soup was light but packed with sweet flavours of seafood and saffron. Very comforting!
Last but not least, their waffles. A generous portion size, the texture of fluffy waffles paired well with the crunchy cereal. The slightly tangy berry sacue offset the sweetness of the icecream. Recommended for sharing as well.
Come visit Five Oars for a 5/5 star cafe experience!
