[2025 Haiyan Attraction] Travel Guide for Fengyi Scenic Area (Updated Mar)

I thought the Haiyan Fengyi Scenic Area would be crowded, but it wasn't. On a weekend with perfect weather, we surprisingly enjoyed a tea garden all to ourselves. 🌈Highlights: 💚Tea Garden - Located just uphill, it's not huge, but there's no！one！there! It's great for taking photos, and there's a coffee shop called "Up Down Hill." 🤎Air-Raid Shelter - Dug at the end of the 1950s, it's about 300m long. My first fall of the new year was in the air-raid shelter in Fengyi Village. On the first day of the new year, I went to Fengyi Village after visiting the Salt Officer's Tide Music City. The village is usually very quiet, but it was busy during the new year. The parking lot was full, so we parked on the side of the road in the village. I thought I could go straight to the air-raid shelter, but I ended up climbing to the top of the mountain. Who said this was a relaxing climb? The mountain isn't high, but the path is steep. I was exhausted. I kept thinking about how I hadn't reached the air-raid shelter yet, and then I reached the top of the mountain. There's actually a path around the back of the mountain that leads straight to the air-raid shelter. I hope the attraction can make some improvements. The slope at the corner of the air-raid shelter is very slippery, and there are no handrails on either side. If an older person slips, it could be very dangerous. My first fall of the new year, and all my bad luck is gone!

✨ On the way from Shendang to Haiyan City, you will pass by a beautiful new village called Fengyi, which is surrounded by mountains, water, and tea gardens. It is a new popular destination in Haiyan with a lot to offer. There are attractions such as Kuang Keng Moon Lake, Fengshan Mountain, hiking trails, and tea houses. It is more crowded than you might expect on weekends. 👍🏻 There are two things you must do in Fengyi. One is to climb the viewing platform on the hillside, where you can enjoy a wide view and "step on" the pit in the lake. The other is to walk through the 100-meter-long air-raid shelter halfway up the mountain. 📝 Let's talk about the correct order of these two things. Enter from the tea garden road, and you will see a gravel road. Walk along it to the entrance of the air-raid shelter. The other end of the cave is the mountain road. Then go down the mountain and take another fork in the road to the other side of the lake. ▪️ [Walk through the air-raid shelter] This cave was dug in the 1950s for special reasons. There is a Tyrannosaurus rex on the left wall, roaring. After passing through the arched stone gate, you will officially enter the tunnel. The tunnel is about 300 meters long and very bright inside, obviously carefully designed. Especially under the light, it looks like a magical time tunnel. Interestingly, there is green grass growing on both sides of the tunnel where the light shines, which is amazing. ▪️ [Climb the mountain and enjoy the view] In addition to the air-raid shelter, you will see a small stall selling trinkets and snacks. Follow the mountain road on the right to the viewing platform on the top of the mountain. Even if you walk slowly, you can reach the top in 10 minutes. There is a sign that says "I came to Fengyi to step on a pit" and a national flag on the viewing platform. Everyone who comes up will say "wow" to praise the scenery here. You can overlook the whole Fengyi from a 360-degree angle. Looking further, you can also see the beautiful scenery outside the village. There is a plank road under the lake, but it was under maintenance when I went there. There are noodle shops, cafes, and restaurants in the village, so you can have a meal. In addition, there are also homestays here, which can meet the needs of urban people who want to get away from the city and go to the countryside. 🚗 It takes about 30 minutes to drive from Shendang or the county to Fengyi 🅿️ There is a paid parking lot, and you can also park on the roadside

🌊 I came to this hidden gem of a seaside town because of Yu Hua's line, "I want to swim until the sea turns blue." I strolled through this ancient town with a history of over 2,000 years, where you can find traces of "To Live" and "Chronicle of a Blood Merchant"... ✅ Must-visit spots 1⃣ Shendang Ancient Town The stone-paved streets of Shendang Ancient Town are lined with ancient Hui-style buildings. Victory Restaurant is a must-visit spot in this ancient town. If you happen to visit at noon, you can also try the stir-fried pork liver and yellow wine. The prototype of "Chronicle of a Blood Merchant" is also here. You can also check in at the entrance of the Xuanhu Hall Cafe and experience the local water town life. 2⃣ Shendang Granary Not far from the ancient town, you'll find a lyric wall check-in point. You can also visit the Geometry Bookstore to read Yu Hua's books and enjoy a cup of coffee.
