Best Things to DoNo.11 of Best Things to Do in Munich

Located on the banks of the Isar River, the English Garden covers an area of 350 hectares. It is a large park in Munich and one of the largest urban parks in Europe. Since the construction of the garden is similar to that of the United Kingdom, the grass is open, the paths are winding, and it is in line with nature, and it is rarely artificially carved, so it is named "British Park". The lawn in the garden is densely green and covered with shade, the wild ducks play in the river, and the swans roam the lawn, which is a harmonious natural scenery. Nowadays, the English Garden is a good place to experience the atmosphere of citizens' leisure life. Whenever the weather is fine, a large number of citizens will come here to exercise and relax, and enjoy leisure in the sun. The landmark buildings in the park are a circular temple (Monopteros) built on a hillside and a Chinese tower imitating ancient Chinese architecture. This quaint pavilion-style five-story wooden pagoda built 200 years ago, although it is called the Chinese pagoda, was built by Europeans who yearned for oriental art half by legend and half by imagination. There is a beer garden under the tower, providing visitors with drinks, entertainment and leisure programs and opportunities to enjoy the surrounding scenery. The northern part of the park is dominated by woods, with many quiet paths and fewer people. Citizens riding bicycles and running can be seen. The southern part is more popular, with a large area of grassland, and it is a famous "celestial body bath". There are usually many tourists around to cast a glimpse of it from a distance. It is said that there are also local residents who really want to see what it is, so they buy a map and hold it in their hands, pretending to be tourists and standing there.
