Elfreth's Alley: A Timeless Journey in Philadelphia
Elfreth's alley is the oldest inhabited street in the United States, dating back to 1702. In 1934, one of the local activists formed an association to protect the street, thanks to which both it and its’ houses have survived to this day.
Now the street has 32 houses about three hundred years old, and people still live in them. Except for one, which has a museum with authentic interiors and a souvenir shop.
The street is very colorful and stands out among all the surrounding narrow low houses, bright colors and various antique details, such as wooden shutters or door knocks.
Although the Internet says that this is a famous tourist destination, today there was only me and one couple with an even bigger tripod for the phone than I have 🤪
