It is very easy to walk around and please be mindful that this area is still being occupied by real residents. The museum tour cost $3 and you can get a glimpse into the house which is the museum. Elfreth's alley is the oldest inhabited street in the United States, dating back to 1702. In 1934, one of the local activists formed an association to protect the street, thanks to which both it and its’ houses have survived to this day. Now the street has 32 houses about three hundred years old, and people still live in them. Except for one, which has a museum with authentic interiors and a souvenir shop. The street is very colorful and stands out among all the surrounding narrow low houses, bright colors and various antique details, such as wooden shutters or door knocks. Although the Internet says that this is a famous tourist destination, today there was only me and one couple with an even bigger tripod for the phone than I have 🤪

The journey continues through some colonial looking streets till we finally reach Elfreth’s alley, a reminiscence of perfectly maintained early colonial terraced houses. What can I say, it reminded us of the UK.
