Autumn in Madrid, a colorful world of oil paintings
Madrid has also entered deep autumn
A burst of autumn rain, a burst of coolness
The sky washed by autumn rain becomes more transparent
Autumn should be the most beautiful season in Madrid
At this time, temperate plants begin to change color
Madrid, the capital located in the middle of the Iberian Peninsula
Has become the most colorful city on the peninsula
Picture 1-9. Retiro Park from 9 to 11 in the morning
The fallen leaves are colorful, golden, green, and deep red reflect each other
(The shooting locations are Crystal Palace, park road, artificial lake, and Felipe IV Gate)
Picture 10-13. Coming out of the Felipe IV Gate
Is the Prado Museum.
The small hillside at the entrance
Because of the colorful colors and clear sky
The queue will not be so boring
Picture 14. On the road connecting Spain Square and the Royal Palace of Madrid Sabatini Garden
Although it is a small tree that has just been planted, with European classical architecture
It is also so pleasing to the eye!
Picture 15-17. Even the autumn colors of the discount village are very charming (las rosas village)
Autumn Madrid, the most pleasing season
Walking on the road, as if walking into a landscape like an oil painting
From the end of October to the beginning of December, although short, it is the most brilliant
It is also the season that I think is most suitable for travel in Madrid
The journey is busy, and it is sorted out after returning
At this time, the autumn in Madrid should have come to an end

The most beautiful park in Madrid
The El Retiro park is a must visit in Madrid. It is centrally located so it's an easy walk from anywhere in the city! it recently gained UNESCO world heritage status for its history.
In the middle of El Retiro is a huge lake that is popular with young families and couples. The park is also conveniently situated next to the Prado museum so you can visit both sites in one go!

Huge park in the heart of Madrid
I tried to visit the Prado museum, but hadn’t planned in advance and the ginormous line was a big turnoff.
Since the park is right next to it, I decided to go for a stroll and that was the best decision. When I visited in early November, the autumn leaves were all over the park and it was quite pleasant walking through the fallen leaves.
The Crystal palace (closed when I visited) and Velasquez Palace are also in the grounds and there’s no charge to visit them.
Definitely a great way to relax in Madrid.

Park walking in the heart of Madrid
Nearest Metro station: Retiro
Famous for: having multiple parks and tourist spots in the same place; the pleasant gardens and lake inside and many performers
Tourist spots nearby: Prado Museum, Fountain of the Fallen Angel, Crystal Palace, Puerta de Alcala, Real Botanical Garden, Museum of Anthropology (all within walking distance of 20 minutes depending on which end you are at)
From the map you may think this is just a regular park, but once you get in, it leads you to many different more famous places - not only are the architectures stunning, but you can instantly feel recharged when you take a pleasant walk inside.
When the weather is good, you can take postcard-like photos wherever you fix your camera at. There are a number of cafes and restaurants inside the park. Water bikes are also available for rent.

A comfortable European city in winter! Madrid.
Madrid is perfect for city walks! Stroll around and feel the energy of the city, visit parks, museums, and squares, and try the most classic Spanish tapas and paella. It's amazing!
🚶♀️|Attractions
⛲️El Retiro Park
Parque de El Retiro
The largest green park in Madrid and my favorite place! There are many street performances and students on outings. It's worth spending a few hours strolling around and absorbing the positive energy from nature.
⛲️Prado Museum
Museum Nacional del Prado
One of the four major museums in the world, it is also the most comprehensive and authoritative art gallery for Spanish paintings. It houses works by masters such as Michelangelo, Goya, and Raphael. A must-visit in Madrid.
⛲️Puerta del Sol
Plaza Mayor
The two squares are connected and are the zero-kilometer starting point for all roads in Spain. They are also the site of many important modern events in Madrid. The bear eating grapes sculpture in the square is the emblem of Madrid.
⛲️Royal Palace of Madrid
Royal Palace of Madrid
The third largest royal palace in Europe, after the Palace of Versailles and the Hofburg Palace in Vienna. It is one of the most well-preserved and exquisite palaces in the world, housing countless gold and silver utensils, paintings, porcelain, tapestries, and more. It's extremely luxurious.

🍄Meson de Chanpinon
A popular mushroom restaurant. Try various tapas.
The chorizo is really delicious! The bread balances the greasiness.
The signature mushrooms are a must-try, and the soup is very fresh. Almost everyone who has tried it says it's delicious! But the restaurant is small and crowded, so you can take it to go.
🍄Corner Coffee
The chocolate churros here are really delicious! I think they're better than the ones at the century-old shop! The churros are crispy, and the chocolate is just right, not too greasy.
🍄Chocolate san gines
A century-old churro shop in Madrid, but not as good as the one above. It's a bit greasy. It's recommended to share one serving between two people, or it might be too greasy.
🍄Rosi la loca
A famous restaurant, and it's really delicious! This meal made me fall in love with Spanish cuisine.

Don't leave Madrid until you've seen the autumn in Retiro Park.
Don't leave Madrid until you've seen the autumn in Retiro Park 🍂
During my two years in Madrid, Retiro Park was like my spiritual refuge. Every time I went shopping in Serrano, I would walk around the Puerta de Alcalá and see the people rowing and the street performers playing the violin in Retiro Park. In autumn, Retiro Park is dyed golden, and every step you take is a pleasure. 🍂
🔸[About Retiro]
Retiro Park "El Parque del Buen Retiro" was originally a park exclusive to the Spanish royal family and was opened to the public in 1868. It is located in the center of Madrid, next to the Prado Museum.
🔸[Travel Guide]
🔹Crystal Palace (Palacio de Cristal)
Built in the late 19th century, it was originally a place of entertainment for the royal family. The palace is made of iron and glass, and there are swans swimming in the fountain in front of the palace. The Crystal Palace is probably not open now, but there are often some art events inside.
🔹Velázquez Palace (Palacio de Velázquez)
Also a late 19th-century palace, adjacent to the Crystal Palace, now displaying art and historical artifacts.
🔹Rowing Lake (Estanque Grande del Retiro)
Although I have never rowed a boat in it, I especially like to watch people rowing on the benches.
🔹Sphinx Fountain
Many people come to this fountain to take artistic photos!

Crystal Adventures: Exploring Spain’s Retiro Park and Its Glass Palace
For outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers, Madrid’s El Retiro Park is a must-visit destination that blends lush greenery, cultural history, and architectural beauty. At the heart of this sprawling urban oasis lies the stunning Palacio de Cristal (Crystal Palace), a masterpiece of glass and iron that feels like stepping into a fairy tale.
El Retiro Park, once a royal retreat, is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike. Whether you’re strolling through tree-lined paths, rowing on the serene lake, or admiring the sculptures and fountains scattered throughout the park, there’s always an adventure waiting to unfold.
The true gem of Retiro, however, is the Crystal Palace. Built in 1887, this magnificent glass structure was originally designed as a greenhouse to showcase exotic plants from the Philippines. Today, it serves as an exhibition space for contemporary art under the umbrella of the Reina Sofía Museum. The palace’s transparent walls allow sunlight to flood the interior, creating an ethereal atmosphere that enhances both the art and the surrounding nature.
After exploring the palace, venture into the park’s other treasures. The nearby Rosaleda (rose garden) is a fragrant paradise in full bloom during spring and summer, while the Fallen Angel statue—a unique depiction of Lucifer—adds a touch of intrigue to your wanderings.
El Retiro Park offers a blend of tranquility and adventure, making it perfect for a leisurely day outdoors. Pack a picnic, bring your walking shoes, and don’t forget your camera—the Crystal Palace and its surroundings are endlessly photogenic. Whether you’re seeking inspiration, relaxation, or just a beautiful escape, Retiro Park promises an unforgettable experience in the heart of Madrid.

There are some places in Madrid where you can find cherry blossoms and enjoy their beauty during the springtime.
1. Retiro Park (Parque del Retiro): While primarily known for its expansive green spaces and beautiful gardens, Retiro Park is home to several cherry blossom trees that bloom in late March to early April. The area around the Palacio de Cristal and the Paseo de la Argentina are particularly picturesque spots to see cherry blossoms in bloom.

Strolling through these gardens during springtime can offer lovely views of cherry blossoms against the backdrop of the palace.
3. Japanese Garden at the West Park (Parque de la Casa de Campo): While not as extensive as some Japanese gardens in other cities, the Japanese Garden within Casa de Campo Park features cherry blossom trees that bloom in spring. It can be a serene spot to enjoy the cherry blossoms away from the city crowds.
4. Madrid Rio Park: Along the Manzanares River, Madrid Rio Park offers beautiful green spaces with various trees, including some cherry blossom trees. It's a nice area for a leisurely stroll or a picnic during springtime.
Keep in mind that the blooming period for cherry blossoms in Madrid may vary depending on weather conditions, typically occurring in late March to early April.

Self-driving in Spain|A Walking Guide to Madrid
In Madrid, whether it's hot or cold, it comes quickly and leaves quickly. This is how Hemingway described Madrid. Perhaps Madrid is not as poetic and imaginative as Barcelona, but as Hemingway described, it is a sunny city that rejects melancholy. When you first arrive in Madrid, you can feel a blend of history and modernity in the city. In the early morning, a golden sunlight falls on the Gran Via.
Start from Retiro Park in the early morning, pass through the Alfonso XII Monument and the Crystal Palace in the park, then head west, passing through Puerta del Sol Square, and you will pass the famous Chocolate churros on the way, then go straight to the Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor, when you are almost exhausted, have a drink at Plaza de Santa Ana, and then return to Retiro Park.
In the evening, shuttle through the San Miguel Market, spending time on delicious food and wine. Stroll slowly and eat slowly, two hours will pass quickly. At night, sit in the colorful square with a glass of wine, shed the heat of the day, and enjoy the cool breeze. A day in Madrid is fulfilling and comfortable.
Finally, attach a map and route. Of course, it would be better to find a local companion
