The Puente Nuevo is the newest and largest of the three bridges that spanned the 120 meters deep chasm that carries the Guadalevin River and divides the city of Ronda. It was built between 1759 to 1793 by Jose Martin de Aldehuela, an impressive single arch placed on the middle, flanked by two more on either side. The best views we can see of the new bridge are located at the end of a small path that runs from the Plaza de Maria Auxiliadora. People dream of a day trip to Ronda from Malaga or Seville, hoping to see this bridge and the breathtaking panorama of the tajo gorge. Take your shoes and be ready to walk! Ronda is a place for hikers as you will be going up and down hills. You can enjoy magnificent landscapes full with golden colours and some green touches. you can also see a lake from one side of the town. This town has some traditional food and cheeses that you can get in several small shops. Parking may be tricky but if you go early in the morning it shouldn’t be an issue any time or the year. It is also important to have a few coins in case you need to use a toilet. And as part of my all times stop, even though is not a very big town, we did our traditional stop in guess where? McDonalds. This time we made a quick stop for a snack and carry on walking.

This is the central town church set in the very city center by a beautiful plaza. It has a nice tall clock tower belfry and that's almost the only thing we could see. The church was surrounded and blocked with hundreds of people on 16 July when we visited. Reason - the Virgin Carmen festival when from this Church the Virgin is escorted through town down to the beach to set sail into the ocean.
